Seven candidates took the stage on Thursday night for the final Republican presidential primary debate before the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses. During the course of the night, the GOP hopefuls pitched their platforms to conservative voters, all with a heaping of historical trivia.
Numerous names were dropped, including Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy and, inadvertently, Bill Clinton. And 300-years worth of dates were sprinkled into casual conversation.
Was this a debate or a history lesson? You decide.
