Kobe Bryant Divorce: No Prenup!

Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa has filed for divorce, and according to TMZ, the pair have no prenup.

Because California is a community property state, Vanessa is likely entitled to half of Kobe's earnings during their 10-year marriage. The LA Lakers star is expected to make $25,244,493 this year, according to ESPN.

Vanessa is being represented by Laura Wasser, who recently repped Kim Kardashian in her divorce from Kris Humphries.

According to the court documents (via TMZ), Vanessa is requesting spousal support and joint custody of the couple's two daughters, 8-year-old Natalia and 5-year-old Giana.

The pair tied the knot in April 2001, and their marriage withstood the star's 2003 sexual assault charges. Though the case was ultimately dismissed, Bryant did admit to having sexual relations with his 20-year-old accuser.

Sources tell TMZ that Vanessa's filing was prompted by infidelity.

Lol, I wish I could start investing stock in eye candy that date and marry celebrities. This has been an extraordinarily lucrative business for them. Vanessa Bryant, may have never gone to college, but she is one of the strategically smartest people in the world. She somehow sweet-talked a dummy out of doing a pre-nup and marrying her, knew he was cheating but waited for the law to work for her, and has probably never had to work a day in her life. And she never will. Kobe will likely have to beg at her doorstep someday. When you look up the phrase "you go girl" her picture should be right there.

Kobe is an idiot, like most overpaid athletes. He is not worth $25 Million per year. I hope Vanessa takes him to the cleaners too....just like Tiger Woods!! They are all overpaid and I would not pay to watch them, I would not even waste my time watching them on TV. Not worth it!

I can't believe that Vanessa's ex-step father is talking down about her. Hell, she was cheating on Kobe he was cheating on her. Also he put that girl in jeapordy having sex outside his marriage with AIDS going on. Look at Majic Johnson now. Those men have a problem with keeping it in their pants while on the road. I know for a fact when Kobe comes to Dallas they hang at the sleaze dancing bars because I know the limo drive that takes him! Kelsey Grammer is another one. You reap what you sow. Men never cease to amaze me. lol. Why the #%$^ are you still entering this broken system of marriage? I don't blame women for doing this. Notice how much smarter women are when they reach the top. Look at Oprah and Martha Stewart they could give a &@#$ about "true love." Marriage is out dated and has become nothing more then legalized prostitution. Women no longer care to make the effort since either way the get a consolation price just for showing up. I don't blame women, this is what our country trains them to become. But men you need to get smarter. Prenups won't help you either. Do yourselves a favor and read divorce horror stories before tying the knot.

These arm candies only marry these athletes for their money. It's like an investment. Marry the dumb jocks for 10 years and collect half of their earnings. Why do the jocks marry when they have no intentions of being faithful boggles my mind. In any event, she most likely will walk away with half. Hope it was worth it, Mr. Bryant.

The economic impact of these divorces is nothing compared to the psychological impact on the children in these families. Does it make sense that If your valuable automobile is having problems, you find a good mechanic but if your priceless family is dysfunctional you find a lawyer to help you smash it into pieces.

Am I the only one who senses an evolving gender war developing over the last coupld of years? With all the high-profile divorces, due to infedility by the man in many cases, the common woman appears to be applauding the female victims to seek revenge financially. Between women getting even in the courts these days and them closing the wage, career and education gap it is only a matter of time before tensions seriously mount outside the chat rooms and into the real world.

It is no coincidence that she waited until just after the ten year mark . I am not a divorce lawyer but I know that the payout is mush mush greater if the marriage lasts ten years , something to consider if you don't think she is a good digger. I never understood the concept of community property anyway.In the one percenter's neighborhoods where I grew up , the women did something next to nothing , except ofcourse golfing at the country club shopping at Saks and getting their hair done . In contrast , middle class women clean their own houses , take care of their own children and know where their kitchen is located but often end up destitute after divorce.What did Kbe's wife do the deserve the tens of milluions or more that she will get? She cant even make a basket.

When a man is richer than 99.999% of the poulation and is also a great athelete and famous, he can have countless women who look just as good or better. He doesn't need to prove that he can get a good looking woman .
