Miami's Top Google Searches of 2011: Malls, Hurricanes, And The Miami-Dade Clerk

Posted: Updated:

Google has released its annual Zeitgeist report, which consolidates its billions of queries into a handy, interactive look at what people are searching where. The universal results are as expected, unless you're Kris Jenner: (10) iPad2 (9) Steve Jobs (8) Fukushima (7) Adele (6) iPhone5 (5) Battlefield 3 (4) Casey Anthony (3) Ryan Dunn (2) Google+ and then, at number one, was Ms. Rebecca Black. Happy Friday to you, too.

But what did Miamians search most in 2011? Prepare your pots and spoons, people:

(10) Sawgrass Mills Mall (9) Power 96 (8) Aventura Mall (7) National Hurricane Center (6) WSVN (5) Miami-Dade Transit (4) Sunpass (3) Miami Herald (2) Dolphin Mall and, at number (1), the Miami-Dade Clerk!

Conclusion: we get a crap ton of parking tickets (and other legal entanglements), really like to shop, and take our local news with a heaping side of crazy pills. In other words, the list is just about as boring as expected, with the notable exception of butt augmentation. Where's the butt augmentation? We're told we like that sort of thing.

Google also released a Zeitgeist 2011: Year In Review video. We made it 45 seconds before goosebumps, which were shortly killed by a photo of Al Davis. Grab a hankie, Miami -- it was an incredible year, even though you clearly spent it in a dressing room.
