Police Investigating Key Bridge Jumper (UPDATED)

U.S. Park Police Sergeant Michael Boehm collapsed while responding to a possible Key Bridge jumper and later died at Georgetown University Hospital Friday. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the man, who was found on the C&O Canal at 34th Street, NW, as a priority one to a nearby hospital and where he was later pronounced dead.

Sgt. Boehm was assisting with the investigation of the initial report of a man on the C&O Canal when he collapsed.

According to a press release from the United States Park Police, Fire and EMS personnel at that scene responded immediately to Sgt. Boehm, transporting him to Georgetown University Hospital where the medical staff continued treatment, but were unable to revive him.
