'SNL' Weekend Update: Jude Law 'Gets In The Cage' With Andy Samberg (VIDEO)

First Posted: 12/18/11 12:05 PM ET Updated: 12/18/11 12:07 PM ET

Jude Law, who previously hosted "SNL" in 2010, made a surprise appearance on Weekend Update on Saturday, this time for the popular segment "Get In The Cage." Returning as his signature even-crazier-than-the-real Nicolas Cage character -- hard to believe it's possible -- Andy Samberg began questioning Law about the sequel to "Sherlock Holmes: Game Of Shadows," beginning with his standard opener, "How am I NOT in that movie?"

This time around we learn all sorts of new things: why Nicolas Cage never reads his scripts, what his next project involving the Statue of Liberty is, and, of course, the true meaning of Christmas.

Priceless. I have not laughed so hard at SNL in a long LONG time. Between this one and the Tebow sketch, wow... hilarious! Just watching Jude Law enjoying himself with this... watch his face... little smiles and a few bigger smiles. Just grand. Never thought I'd laugh that hard at SNL again.

This show stopped being anything resembling funny a few decades ago.

BTW, between seeing Jude Law here and on the Graham Norton show, I just wanna kiss him. He's so damn adorable...with a sense of humor and seemingly humility.

Jude Law didnt want to be there. He slid out on his chair and barely remembered to wave. he phoned in his lines, did his plug, and went home.

He did giggle at "Judy Blume"...

I don't know what you were watching, but I saw a Jude Law who was obviously amused by Andy Samberg and having a good time. It's been a few decades since SNL was consistently funny, but this piece was excellent.

Hey Huffpost!!!

You launch in one nation after another - almost weekly. But 80% of the videops can not be watched outside the US. - Are You actively trying to lose the people responsible for your income or just gp the good old american way and not even know the countries You launch in exist?

I am an American stationed in Germany and gp days without even trying to come in because I know the third page I open will have a video - and that I can not watch it.

Samberg's Nic Cage impression is spot-on!

And now for a moment of Cage Rage (can't resist):

Jude Law has not been seen in public without a hat recently. Is he going bald?

Funny that Judge Law asks "have you ever read a Sherlock Holmes book?". I wondered the same question about the director of the first movie as I watched the hatch job they made of it. I was not expecting a smoking pipe, funny hat, and magnifying glass, but the Holmes of these two movies only has the name in common with the original creation by Sir Arthur.

I LOVE this skit. Skits that are so so close to reality are the funniest ones, and this one is very close to the Real Nicholas Cage. Andy Samberg can do no wrong in this household, I think he is the most consistently funny castmember these days. If you didn't see it last night, check it out here..!
