Tim Tebow, Broncos Get Visit From Jesus During SNL Skit (VIDEO)

You would have been mistaken if you though that "Tebowmania" had reached its peak when Tebowing hit the halls of Riverhead High School, resulting in severe disciplinary action against a handful of students. Yes, making it big on Long Island is no small feat but on Saturday night, Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos were the subject of a skit on "Saturday Night Live." Although the Riverhead Tebowing Scandal of 2011 will long be remembered in Suffolk County, this sketch aired from 30 Rock in Manhattan certainly drew a larger laugh.

Set in the aftermath of the Broncos' thrilling overtime win over the Bears in Week 14, the sketch takes viewers into the Denver locker room just as a very special visitor arrives. Resplendent in a flowing robe and pair of athletic socks, Jesus reveals to the team that he has indeed been helping them during the fourth quarter -- but certainly is not responsible for all that terrible play earlier in the games -- throughout the team's winning streak. He then asks Tebow to "take it down a notch" and reveals that He actually prays to Broncos kicker Matt Prater -- who has certainly been saving this team in a more terrestrial sense.

Oh, and for those hoping that the Broncos will keep on winning this week, Jesus informs the team that he's got some Christmas shopping -- actually, birthday shopping -- to do on Sunday and won't be able to help against Tom Brady and the Patriots. Bettors, take note.

Athletes need to start saying "I just want to thank genetics, kinesiology, physiology, and all the PEOPLE who've helped me along the way."

I didn`t think SNL was funny at all.Somethings you can joke about, somethings you shouldn`t. Jesus is not one of them. That is partially why this country is so screwed up, no respect for anything or anyone. Leave Tebow alone,he is not hurting anyone.

I think that the first indication we've finally moved from democracy the theocracy will be when they outlaw humor about religious topics.

Also, I disagree with the notion that anyone who makes their living off of their own fame should be left out of public scrutiny or criticism. That comes with the paycheck and something tells me that Mr. Tebow is glad to make that exchange.

Personally, I think people should joke about Jesus all the time, because he's 2000 years old, and is the figurehead of a great joke played on ignorant people.

Apparently, Tebow was raised in home-school and "Christian Academy" isolation. Which makes him a victim of intensive brainwashing.

See the movie: 'Jesus Camp' ... spooky.

We all brainwash out children in some form or fashion. It's just not considered "brainwashing" when you're instilling the values, morals and ideas that you believe in.

THANK (GOD? )SNL IS THE GREAT NEUTRALIZER. WHEN INSANE-RELIGIOUS BRAINWASHING GETS TO BE RIDICULOUS ,TO THE POINT THAT 'ATHLETES' WHO GARNER 'SINFUL' .....AMOUNTS OF BILLION DOLLAR CONTRACTS,ARE SOMEHOW 'IN TOUCH',WITH...(THEIR) GOD.AND WILL TEBOW GIVE ALL THOSE MILLIONS TO THE POOR,IF HE WINS THE SUPERBOWL?

I don't agree with Tebow's beliefs but why can't we just give Tim a break. It doesn't hurt us to see him point to the sky after a touchdown. If he doesn't produce, the Broncos will take him off of the TV screen.

For what its worth, the media is what made a big deal out of Tebow and his religion. There are a ton of religious athletes, pick another. No one hammers on "Metta World Peace" like this.

Christians and Jews don't retaliate or even threaten when people mock our messiah. You must be thinking of the muslims who kill people for cartoons about mohammed.

I'll bet Tebow is a flash on the pan...2 years from now he will be a nothing and highly vulnerable to ridicule.

The irony here is that most of those most vociferously defending Tebow know so little about their own religion that they couldn't even recite the Ten Commandments if you held a gun to their heads.

is there a hidden, or an open, MEANING of some sort in your writing the name of the U.S. President with a lower case letter, and the name of muhamad with a capital letter? I have reversed it for you here. Does that cause any emotional reactions?

How loony is it that some people actually believe Jesus helps them win games? But, I never see them blame Jesus when they lose. That should be all because of "Him" too....right?

LOL.
