Newt Gingrich Santa Claus Song: Loudon Wainwright III Sings Spoof (VIDEO)

First Posted: 12/19/11 04:01 PM ET Updated: 12/19/11 04:20 PM ET

"Santa Claus is Coming to Town" is meant to be a jolly welcoming for the big gift-giver from up north. The ukelele folk takeoff "Newt Gingrich is Running for Pres" is not so kind.

Grammy-winning folk singer/songwriter Loudon Wainwright III put out this new cover of the classic carol, ripping on Newt Gingrich's rise to the top of the GOP presidential primary polls.

"He's not just gonna teach it, he'll make history, he's pals with Donald Trump, tweedle dum, tweedle dee," he sings.

Needless to say, this probably won't be Gingrich's new campaign theme song.

Who?? Wonder if HP would post this if the song was about Obama, for instance. Not a Newt fan by any means but never heard of this clown.

Now, see, Tom, your comment just makes you seem, well, awfully young or totally unaware.
