Adele May Cover Vogue's March 2012 Issue (POLL)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 12/20/2011 10:12 am Updated: 12/20/2011 10:18 am

First Vogue UK, then Cosmo, now Vogue?

Adele may have actually landed a coveted cover on the mag, insiders say. Rumors are swirling that the British songstress is Anna Wintour's celeb of choice for the March issue, which would make it Adele's biggest cover yet -- and an unconventional choice for Vogue.

Natalie Portman, Lady Gaga, Emma Watson, Kate Moss, Kristen Stewart -- Vogue's 2011 cover girls have generally fit the lithe, size 2/4 mold (with the exception of this month's Meryl Streep, who we're guessing is a tad curvier).

But Women's Wear Daily reports that designers have been asked by Vogue to create custom outfits for March's cover girl, who is a size 14.

It is certainly possible, given that Adele donned a formfitting Dolce & Gabbana dress on the December cover of Cosmopolitan. She's also worn plenty of designer threads on the red carpet, including Burberry at the VMAs.

A March cover would be a major coup, given that it's the second most important issue of the year (after September), covering the all the biggest spring trends and brimming with ads. But the Adele pick isn't official yet -- a little birdie told the editors at Styleite that another Grammy-winning singer is getting the coveted March spot: Taylor Swift.

So who will it be? Rather, who would you like to see?

Quick Poll

Who should land Vogue's coveted March cover?

She 's a very good singer but no fashion model. Why do people conflate two very different things and thereby confuse everything.

Wrong.

Physical beauty does. I don't see many 400 pound women who men are lusting over.

This will be the first copy of Vogue I've purchased in a million years, if the lovely Adele is on the cover.

Adele will be belting them out longer than all of them. She has a classic timeless voice.

I guess you missed the memo that she cancelled her tour because of vocal problems. She's not doing herself any favors smoking a pack a day either.

We luuuurrrvvzzz the Adele in all her Adele-adelic, adele-icious splendour. Apparently she has slimmed down considerably since her throat surgery. Whatever works for her. As long as she is back on stage (live and soundstage to make videos) and in the recording studios as soon as she is recovered and feeling up to it. I Adele a long, successful and happy career and life. Anna Wintour is utterly irrelevant.

I wonder if Anna Wintour "Suggested" that Adele lose weight like she "Suggested" that Oprah lose weight before her cover. Hey I have to say I see a fierce head shot in the future, or a photo shopping job that will make Adele look like a El Greco painting... or maybe Wintour is trying to one up Vogue Italia's Franca Sozzani... Although I don't hold out much hope, perhaps they will let Adele show up as her gorgeous, deliciously zaftig self let the curvy girls have their moment in America's premier fashion rag... fingers crossed http:mybodymyimage.com

I worship at the alter that is ADELE... Her size shouldn't really matter... Adele is talented, beautiful, relevant and inspiring - making her absolutely cover worthy...

Absolutely correct. Size is irrelevant - her voice and soul are what make her beautiful. When every single hair is standing at attention when she hits those crystal notes, the last thing on my mind is "how much does this person weigh?"

The gal is golden. And that's all that matters.

The alter that is Adele? Ok, I can see that. She is worthy! Size? She is sized just right! That's just the icing on the "alter that is Adele"!

No need...think they've got plenty of practice, since they Photoshop all their photos and cover models.
