For those of you who claim that God created human beings to eat meat, please read Genesis 1:29, which clearly prescribes a vegetarian diet for human beings. Also - it's nice seeing that the one male in the group is Adam Young. He's not only a vegetarian. He's also a great singer/musician and a devoutly Christian young man.

I really could care less about what these people eat, as long as they stay away from what's on my plate. If I don't like Tofu, I just don't eat it, but when celebrities don't like something, they end up trying to get it banned.

I first went vegetarian 25 years ago and vegan 7 years ago and never looked back!

all these peta people and geggie people . Keep in mind this simple biological fact . God gave humans canine teeth to be ment for eating the ripping and tearing of meat . Had he intended us to eat veggies he would have given us teeth like a cow .

And this is news how? I know a lot of people that don't eat meat. I know a lot of people that do. I love my meat and veggies and don't really care what other people eat. That is their business.

Did you notice one thing about all of these knuckleheads...they are all young, idealistic, and none have any idea what they are talking about and supporting as if they are right, and the rest of the world is wrong. The fact is, there is not only nothing wrong with eating meat, it is actually healthier and a much better balanced diet than straight vegie. God made mankind omnivores, we were made to eat both meat and vegies, thats how man was made; our systems, stomachs, digestive tracts, teeth, everything was made to eat both. All of these young fools are doing is denying themselves the greatest taste in the world, a thick juicy steak!

Did anyone else notice what seems to be a leather jacket adorning Hayden Panettiere? Granted, the article says she's vegetarian not vegan, but with all her campaigning for for sea animals you'd think she'd make more conscientious choices on a daily basis. And how many who actually claim to be vegan ever wear leather shoes on the red carpet or shearling boots around town? How about health and beauty products which are tested on animals or contain animal ingredients? I remember a few years ago Drew Barrymore stopped being so strict with her fashion and make up choices (switching back to designers who use fur in their lines, products which are tested on animals, etc.) because, and I'm paraphrasing, she couldn't have as much fun with fashion and it made me sick. It seems the appropriate thing to do for someone with the power to do so would be to demand better choices. There should be a word who is dietarily a vegan but not in their other choices. Their words ring somewhat hollow when their actions say something opposite.

She is NOT wearing leather! You apparently are unaware that most stores carry shoes/purses/ jackets of man-made materials that look exactly like leather! Also most health and beauty products will promote the fact that the products are not tested on animals nor do they contain animal products. Don't be so quick to judge without knowing the facts!
09:31 PM on 12/25/2011
You were fooled! there are so many purses/shoes/jackets of man-made material, they look just like leather! And, most health/cosmetic products will advise that the products are not tested on animals and do not contain animal ingredients.

Yes, many stores carry vegan/faux products but top-of-the-line designers who are usually clamoring to clad these young stars are often not among that list. Additionally, it is my impression that many stylists care about image and brand name over material choice when dressing or applying beauty products to these stars. I have no proof her jacket in that particular photo is actually leather but do you have proof it is not? I have seen her called out on other sites for campaigning for dolphins etc. and then being photographed several days later with distinct, identifiable purses and/or shoes which are only produced in leather/suede/skin. Again, as a vegetarian she does not have any need to forswear leather and animal products but everything's a piece of a larger whole. I'm not trying to judge or aim only at Hayden P only point out conceptual problems we all (veggies, vegans, and non-) could be discussing in an intelligent manner.

Here's an example of a leather bag she desigend: http://deceiver.com/2007/12/18/hayden-panettiere-wants-to-save-some-of-the-animals/

To each their own. I'm neutral on this subject. I don't always eat meat myself since it is so expensive for one and the cheapest cuts are the unhealthiest. However for me I have noticed that obtaining nutrition through supplements work against my body rather than with it. For instance, I would put a fiber supplement into my drinks but it made me feel horrible and I never knew when I was going to have to go to the bathroom or if I could make it in time. Instead I eat foods that already have fiber naturally in them or is added through the process of the food being manufactured like Fiber One products. The reason why I'm okay with eating meat is because even though we are humans and supposedly more "civilized" than animals, that doesn't change the fact that we are mammals and therefore are animals ourselves. If other animals who don't just eat meat but eat off the land too, then why can't we. It's just natural for us also. I know that is I was a person who didn't eat meat in a life or death situation I would and I'm certain most would also.

Vegan meals http://www.vegancookingtipsandsecrets.com taste great aside from being a healthier choice.

Much like looking at the world through rose colored classes. If you choose to blank out the other colors, you are the only one who loses. If you preach that everyone should turn the world in to a monochrome place, don't expect full sighted people to agree with you. As for healthier choice, you are mistaken. It takes a great deal of effort to eat vegan and stay healthy. Look up the word "scurvy" in Google. Then look up malnutrition. It is ironic that a large chunk of the world scrambles to get decent nutrition and some people make a pretend game out of it. Do you really think a vegan is superior, morally, to a starving, third world kid who supplements his starvation diet with rats and bugs?

Good for them. They obviously love animals and dont' want them to suffer. If you've ever lived on a farm and seen animals killed you know they're how frightened they are before they die..they try to escape and cry.

You're doing it wrong. At a slaughter house they don't see it coming and it's instantaneous. If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

If we're not supposed to eat human, how come they're made out of meat? The same idiotic logic holds.
