Emily Maynard Being Considered For Next 'Bachelorette': REPORT

Emily Maynard Bachelorette

First Posted: 12/20/11 02:18 PM ET Updated: 12/20/11 04:55 PM ET

We watched Emily Maynard and former "Bachelor" Brad Womack become engaged on TV -- only to watch them split up a few months later -- but Maynard could be back on the small screen sooner than you think. According to Life & Style Weekly, Maynard is on the short list to be the next "Bachelorette."

"It's basically a done deal," a source reveals in the new issue of Life & Style. "She hasn't signed the contract yet, but she's fully on board."

Maynard, 25, won Womack's heart and received the coveted final rose -- and an engagement ring -- on the finale of last season's "The Bachelor." However, Maynard and Womack's love apparently wasn't meant to last, and Maynard announced their split in June -- less than four months after the finale aired.

"The demise of our relationship was completely my fault," Womack told PEOPLE at the time of the split.

But now it looks like Maynard, who has a six-year-old daughter, Ricki, might be looking for love again. Though she tweeted that she didn't want to be the "Bachelorette" shortly after her split from Womack, it seems her feelings may have changed.

The new season of "The Bachelorette" won't likely air until Summer 2012, but former "Bachelorette" contestant Ben Flajnik begins his search for love when "The Bachelor" premieres Jan. 2 on ABC.

It would be nice but it just seems to me that she is a liar.

Brad Womack supposedly has an explosive temper; he admitted it on TV. Emily, run for the hills!

When are they going to get it in their heads. There should be a stipulation that all the participants cannot have been married and have NO CHILDREN. It would cut out any distractions for those really seeking a mate.

This will be another "Hollywood" like relationship and it will bound to be, except for Trista and Ryan thus far from this series, an ended one in due time. No one stays together now-n-days, as for the concept EVERLASTING LOVE anymore there are too many meddlers, issues, etc. that are all factors which sever thousands of relationships on a daily basis.

Even though it's just reality t.v., I felt bad for Brad because it's obvious Emily went on the show only to gain exposure. I don't imagine she has trouble getting dates. It did seem that Brad was sincerely looking for someone special. Either way, I guess the world won't come crashing to an end...

Peace out... Not worth the arguement. I prefer to hear someone scratch their nails on a chalkboard than watch this chick another episode.

Please say no... I can't stand her voice. She's a fake - Bad enough we have to put up with Ben. Please bring in someone new. Why are you rotating these peeps? I need to stop watching, it's not fun anymore.

maynard has done nothing with her life except pose for pics, and is rich beyond thought with the grandchild of Hendricks whose son died in an airplane crash. Now she's trying to milk the bachelorette again. . wonder what issues she will have this time around. . .

I can not stand what this reality show has turned into. Can they not find new woman and have to rotate the old and used! Plus her voice - it's piercing!

Yes, I agree with you. . .seems like their must be some unique, different sort of men and women they could use. . but the show is trite. . . the reality shows have overwhelmed me with their mediocrity.

Watching this show is just a waste of time. I would rather read a good book.
