'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Nene Leakes Will Guest Star As 'Glee' Swim Coach (VIDEO)

"Glee" (Tues., 8 p.m. ET on Fox) has had it's fair share of big names, from Tony winners like Idina Menzel to Oscar winners like Gwyneth Paltrow to pop icon Britney Spears. But for the first time, a reality star will grace the halls of William McKinley High School.

Lea Michele and Chris Colfer appeared on the "Glee Season Finaleglee" of "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen on Monday night. The two "Glee" stars and "Real Housewives" fans revealed that "Real Housewives of Atlanta" and "Celebrity Apprentice" star Nene Leakes will be making a guest appearance on their Emmy-winning dramedy.

"We found out that her real name was Linnethia... which I am obsessed with now," Michele said excitedly. "She's awesome. She plays the new swim coach... We literally raided her trailer."

Colfer added that Leakes's character will be named Roz Washington. Roz will presumably be leading Sam's synchronized swim team. Chord Overstreet, who plays Sam, told AOL TV earlier this month that he expects some poolside musical numbers, but there's no word on whether or not Leakes will lend her voice to them. "Synchronized swimming is probably more of a sport that you'd get made fun of for," Overstreet said.

Rumors had been swirling for a few days that Leakes would make a "Glee" cameo and the word is she will be on both the "Grease"- themed episode and the highly-anticipated Michael Jackson episode in January.

"Glee" returns to Fox at 8 p.m. ET on Jan. 17 with "Yes/No."

Of all the Housewives shows, atlanta is the only one I liked. Nene had her ways, but last season when she went off on Kim and her assistant as crazy as she did completely turned me off of her. The sad thing is that if she would have approached them intelligently, she would have had a point, but she took "over the top" to a whole new level. Having said that, I will still check out Glee just to see why they would have chosen her for this role.

Reality shows are bad enough (unless people have a talent like designers or chefs) and we should not reward them by forcing those of us who say no to Real Housewives. Real housewives don't get all tarted up every minute of their lives. Because they have lives.

nene has GOT to have the best agent in this world because nene's not as talented as TRHofA tries to make the audience think, but mostly, she is MEAN. what she did to Latoya on Celebrity Apprentice was downright mean. Starr Jones showed that she could take care of herself when Nene attacked her, but poor Latoya was like a fragile butterfly and Nene just callously snapped off her wings. How mean. And let's just forget what she did to Kim................

Having never seen the Real Housewives show (Gawd knows, the ads were enough to turn me off), I'm wondering how she pronounces her name. Is it "Neen" with a long E, or the Hawaiian pronunciation "Neh-neh"? I'd suspect the latter, as these women (IMO, any way), tend to make gooses of themselves.

Just sayin'....
