Occupy Wall Street Thank You Video Released

Occupy Wall Street protesters got into the holiday spirit this week by releasing a video thanking the supporters.

The 6-minute video catches viewers up on what the group has been up to. Various protesters share stories of how they got involved and explain the group's daily routine.

The video also features footage from New York City protests, arrests and meetings.

At the end, text reading "Thank You For Support/Love, OWS" appears.

Directed by David Sauvage, the video was officially approved by the New York City General Assembly on Tuesday night.

Wish the collective OWS Christmas Video was one that would make the purveyors of corporate obsolescence quake in their greedy, expensive shoes. Wish it would have woken up the masses to the fact that each product they buy will contribute to the bottom line and thus the economic power that will be wielded against them in ways too numerous to count. Wish it would have made people aware that each item bought was made at the expense of slave labor, may have wreaked devastation on the environment and humanity and lead to the demise of all we hold dear.
A real Occupy Christmas entails scaring the s**t out of the manufacturers who create items to fall apart in a short time in order to fill their coffers rapidly. It would make people stop, think, realize that they have the power to turn things upside down by stopping the excessive consumption.
I have a funny feeling Christmas 2012 is going to be drastically different from this year. The "job creators" are now free to wreak havoc on the masses and intimidate them for now. You can only intimidate for so long until one day up is down and down is up cause all the masses of people are now fed up. New Boston Tea Parties will be at the malls. Instead of riots over shoes and rappers, there will be riots over the lies and destruction caused by the corporations playing games with human beings. Real OWS videos change perspectives.

Nice video but don't believe the hype. What's not spoken about is the folks who aren't in that video who can't make it there because they've been evicted thanks to an employment situation that seems to keep falling on deaf ears to this movement. What's not mentioned is the fact that quite a few there go home to gentrified apartments and don't mention one word about it. They don't realize that as they gentrify others out, so too will it happen to them. This is the problem with Park Slope now.
What will surprise many in OWS is the real revolution that's brewing is going to be among the people with access to fancy electronics, who can afford to be ideological, who are raising or caring for the underage and elderly parts of the 99% and can't afford to be arrested or unable to just drop everything and come running to reoccupy a park in the village.
Many at OWS will be in shock to see that a revolution, away from their atrium, dedicated office space on the very wall street they protest, their General Assembly and Spokes Councils are an evergrowing group of people who are really suffering, cannot afford to get there, and don't have time for the corporations to make the media and bought out ones in the upper echelons of OWS pretend like they don't freakin' exist. They will show themselves one day soon. They won't ask for permission, acceptance or opinions.

Just the fact that it took 2 hours in a GA back in October to discuss how to handle a damned UPS bill for all the donations that amounted to some 500 boxes a day, coming into a tiny nearby UPS store told me something was wrong. There were so many blocks and dumb questions and then the proposal was tabled because no one knew how to handle a bill. Problem is someone started a personal account which quickly became a problem because there's a limit to personal boxes. Obviously, the account now changes to a corporate one with a higher cost but added amenities. This is natural. With 500 boxes coming in, many of them with messages in them that have since been archived, it's important to preserve what people have sent for many reasons, but primarily to allow their donations to be counted as a part of the movement/ history. But nope, they wouldn't agree for the bill to be paid. Just the fact that this even came up in GA was telling. Just pay the bill and be done with it.
Also, it's fairly set up a basic spreadsheet stating what was donated vs. itemized outgoing expenses. Its not hard. Nope. No transparency.
Since that time I just protested in front of the park about real issues and left it like that.
