Santa Claus Goes Scuba Diving In The Florida Keys (WATCH)

He goes down a chimney and flies through the sky, but it's not often you see Santa submerged.

But fortunately for needy chilren, there's a scuba diving St. Nick in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary off Key Largo, making surprise visits to creatures below and posing with divers for donations to charity.

Spencer Slate of Key Largo's Atlantis Dive shop had been donning the jolly fat man's Christmas gear for years and offering underwater holiday photo ops to customers, the proceeds of which go straight to Kids In Special Situations, a Keys-based organization that provides clothes, basic essentials, and gifts to children at Christmas.

And generous divers aren't the only creatures Santa encounters, of course -- check out this video of Slate as St. Nick, encountering life under the sea.
