Biggest Media Gaffes Of 2011 (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 12/22/11 04:35 PM ET Updated: 12/29/11 09:21 AM ET

The cameras are always rolling, profane words do not always get "bleeped" out, and teleprompters can sometimes go a little crazy. In 2011, some of the media's most seasoned professionals were reminded of these facts, and others had to learn the hard way. Below, we present our admittedly imperfect attempt to capture some of the most memorable media gaffes of 2011.

Note: the list is in no particular order.

The biggest media gaffe occurs every night when FOX actually tries to convince people that Faux news is actually news rather than right wing propoganda...

the biggest mistake is giving obama any airtime at all except for when he is drug out of the white house in 2012

Replace him with who? Surely not any of the other goofs that are running!

Are you serious? Did you really say "drug out of the white house"? One might take your bashing of the president a tad more seriously if you at least you proper grammar. FYI, the past tense of drag is dragged, not drug.

while i detest the agenda of fixnews and resent their headquartering of the gop/baggers i must admit their women are more attractive and that is done for good reason, many of their viewers are bed ridden in hospitals, rehab centers or assisted living facilities and the rest are elderly! check out the intentional placement of the females on the "five" and how the heels and legs are emphasized!

Huh? What does having more attractive women on Faux News have to offer the elderly, bed-ridden folk than any other newscasters. BTW, just because they are ailing or frail doesn't mean their brains have atrophied.

The biggest mistake was giving "The Playboy Club" and "Whitney" any airtime, as show's.

My media wish list for 2012 is no more Kardashian "news." No more Kardashian sham weddings and, hopefully, E! Entertainment TV will find another family to focus on. Also on the wish list is no more "Real Wives" reality shows with their alcohol fueled rages, plasticized faces, hostility, etc. Are these "Housewives" shows really watched or admired, or these "shows" just cheaper to produce? I do not care for these so-called "reality" shows. I find them all a hoax.

Whoopi's fart is second place, but why? Why not V.P Joe Biden's saying the F-word in front of the media as he and the President entered the Brieifing Room? It was heard on C-Span, CNN, FoxNews, CBS, NBC, ABC

Whoopi is #2 (no pun intended) because it was the most intelligent thing to come out of her in ages...but yours should be in the top 5.

Most of the national ones were liberals falling all over themselves to be smarties. I'm just sayin'.

Well, Fox hasn't been the friendliest network to Romney - after all, he didn't used to work for them, so there is that possibility. Fox had an interesting week or so with it's graphics (i.e., 8.6% being greater than 9.0% for unemployment or rounding up the 8.6% unemployment rate to 9% in another graphic). Incompetence? Partially. Propaganda, also partially. I don't know if it's a 50/50 split between having incompetent people working there and trying to push propaganda - I doubt it. The propaganda has lasted longer than a week.

When it comes to Mark Halperin, it turns out, that the promise, that Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski made to MH, that they would censor Halperin’s use of an agreed-upon, 4-letter word, to be tossed at the President - was broken. (Or failed due to an especially high level of incompetency).
Mark Halperin, with the encouragement of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, decided to use a 4-letter, derisive, verbal, water balloon, to be lobbed, (and allegedly bleeped simultaneously) at President Obama.

But, Oops!!! Dang!! Darn!! Ding!! Only, the “lob” part worked!!!!
Sorry there Halperin.

That malfunction, did not stop Joe and Mika, from enjoying their guffawfest over the whole thing. Would the convulsive giggling never end?

This, and Moronic Joke’s latest ad, and it seems that coarse and unprofessional behavior, are not only common at the show, but a delight for Joe and Mika to promote.
