'Hot in Cleveland': Betty White Goes Skydiving (VIDEO)

Elka's relationship with Roy has been going hot and heavy on "Hot in Cleveland" (Wed., 10 p.m. EST on TV Land). It appears, though, that it was going a little more aggressively than either of them wanted. Inspired by the girls, Elka decided to pretend she was younger than she was to be closer to Roy's age.

Suddenly, she found herself in an airplane preparing to go skydiving. At that point, facing a frightening reality, Roy confessed that he'd never been skydiving. He'd never been a paratrooper. He was just trying to impress her and keep up with her seemingly active lifestyle -- the same thing she was doing, trying to keep up with him.

At that moment, they realized they didn't need to jump out of an airplane to enjoy one another's company. But then, thanks to a mishap and a trip, they wound up doing it anyway, and absolutely falling in love with it. By the end of the episode, all of the women had learned that it really is better to just be yourself. Men seem to prefer women who are genuine.

Betty White is always top notch. I remember her from the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lake Placid, The Golden Girls. She is always #1!

Betty White better wear a scarf! If you think landing in snow is going to be cold, think about how cold it is going to be in that aircraft at 3,000 with no doors on it, traveling at 140 MPH? Old folks don't have that much "fat" on them, that's why their house is always extra warm! Betty White needs to take a "practice ride" before she exits the "comforts of the plane" for full exposure to high altitude sub zero cold! At her age this is not a good idea, I don't care how much money they're going to pay her! Insurance Co's. should stop this! It will be dangerous to her health! I have sky dived, and she needs to stick to the summer time jumping!

My gramma's favorite show was The Golden Girls, and I used to watch the reruns with her, so I was excited to see Hot in Cleveland, but except for Betty White, the show is just weird and uncomfortable. Valerie Bertinelli can't act, except to giggle and think she looks like a teenager, the British one is WAY too old for the sloppy hair extensions and clothes my friends and I wear, and the one who plays the actress needs to hit In n Out, her bones are sticking out! Very disappointed.

I watched the video before reading anything. I was hoping that she was skydiving for real. It seems like something Betty White would do, because she's cool like that.

Who do they think they are kidding? How much did the writers get to steal that exact scenario from an episode of The Golden Girls where it was Rose (Betty White) and Niles who did the same thing for the same reason. If you are going to steal, at least change it up a bit.

Don't ask me HOW I remember this, but when Betty White played Rose on Golden Girls, she did the same exact skit. Only her boyfriend at the time was Niles. Funny I can't remember what I walk into a room for, but I remember tv episodes I saw over 20 years ago....

I doubt she sky-dived. I would say she the gentleman with her were just there to jump out, and dbe replaced by stunt double's. Insurance!
