Pink Rescues Dog Savagely Thrown Over Bridge (PHOTOS)

Singer P!nk is feeling the holiday spirit. After coming across an internet news item about a puppy savagely tossed over an L.A. overpass and into the river, P!nk shelled out $5000 to pay for its emergency operation.

According to TMZ, the puppy had suffered three broken legs from landing in the river, but like all good Christmas stories, this one has a happy ending: the puppy, named Stella, has made a healthy recovery and been adopted by a family.

Perhaps the Grammy-winner's act of goodwill was also inspired by something else: P!nk recently welcomed her first baby, daughter Willow Sage, together with husband Carey Hart, in June.

"You hear people say it all the time, how life changes so drastically. But you can't possibly grasp how beautiful that is until you have your child," the singer told People about being a new parent.

Pink we love you!! God Bless you to help this defenseless baby who suffered unmercifully. This has brought tears to my eyes... When will the abuse, neglect, exploitation of our furry friends end? The person responsible should pay a price and hopefully is found guilty of this horrific CRIME... May God bless all of the animals... they truly are our furry loving companions.. They experience joy, loyalty, love, happiness, sadness, pain..etc just as we do

Pink, God Bless you for standing up for this dog & doing what is right as well as, going the extra mile. Your empathy and right-minded actions are what makes humans the highest form of animal. However as time has passed the line between humans and animals have only become more blurred. A portion of the human race has become predatory, deviant and self serving. We are supposed to use common sense, compassion and be ethical in our dealings with the world animals included. The person who committed this crime should be dealt with in the same fashion as he dealt with this innocent dog.

Look at that dog's face--the before and after. Before, the poor dog looks so hurt and abused. After, the dog looks healthy and loved. Good for Pink and the people who rescued the dog. Whoever tried to throw away that dog should do community service in an animal shelter.

I know! Pink has always donated to animal right's causes. While she DID say that about having a child, HuffPo makes it seem like she said it as an explanation for why she paid for the dog's care.
