Does anyone really care about what thetorch and pitchfork brigade, which is what the Iowa Gopers are, will decide? Those Bircher, reactionary, evangelical, wing-nuts don't even influence the GOPer part, muchless the country, when it comes to Presidential politics.

Fer crissakes, they elected Charles Grassley, who stated the the Affordable Healthcare Act would pull the plug on grandma! Grassley is the personification of the Iowa GOPer. Iowa is the only state where Ron paul could possible be taken seriously (I mean, really, has anyone read the breadth of his political philosophy, rather than cherry-pick the few nuggets of sane dialogue???).

A week after the caucuses, no one will be citing them for anything. the hicks and rubes will go underground until Groundhog day and we'll be talking about the "Live Free or Die" screwballs who read the Manchester Guardian and live in splendid isolation and how they are the deciders of our GOPer figurehead

Hard to see the undecideds settling with Romney. Newt does not have the organization that is normally needed but I still see him as winning this one.
Seems to me that Huckabee is just campaigning for Romney by forecasting his win.

"I just listened to Huckabee call Obama a decent, patriotic American. This, in conjunction with his support of Romney and Cap & Trade should clue everyone in on exactly what type of "conservative" Mike Huckabee is."
---------------------------

holy moly! made the mistake of reading a few comments on the original site, as exemplified by the above quote. it seems that bitterness and abject hatred is a prerequisite for inclusion in the ranks of today's Conservatives. i do not understand how any of them can mention Jesus in any of their angry rants. i'm almost tempted to get religion just so i can pray for them. scary stuff.

You are 100% correct, Ayisha. The irrational hatred and small mindedness is very scary. Unfortunately, it makes sense. Who does the Repuplican base have for role models? The irony of GOP claiming to be the "moral party" is amazing. They even have to reinvent history to find heroes. "MLK was a republican, don'tcha know?" Absolutely shameless.

Don't get me started on religion - the GOP is counting on there being "A sucker born-again every minute"

A view from across the pond : What Oath/Pledge are these T/Republicans taking," I promise that I will do nothing for the average American, I will make sure that all my friends in big business pay as little tax as possible, I will ensure that as many people as possible do not get the medical care they need and deserve, and finally I will use my campaign funds to promote my new book" sounds right to me, or are they just feeling for the hearts they don't have, you decide.

Are you saying that we in the U.S. are the only country that is been taken over by the most stupid among us? The only country that puts its stupid people up as valid independent thinkers? The only country that allows less than one percent of its adult population, if one can call a TBagger an adult, to speak for its country while the intelligent among us remains quite? We are the only country in the world that has stupid in the limelight and trying to dictate how the country is to be run? How did you catch on?

Whichever muppet wins Iowa will, no doubt, praise God for sending the weather that secured their victory. Will the other losers also praise Him for His decision?????

Ron Paul doesn't really speak about religion publicly. He is religious but believes that is not something to talk about for political gain, and he won't be doing any Tebowing.

Ron Paul is the joke of the last 100 years. His ideas would have worked well in the 18 hundreds, where his mind and ideas are. It would be rather hard for Rep. Paul to come out and talk how god helped him with his racial views. Maybe it will be the voices of hung minorities past that will help him? One can only hope.

Ron Paul's "religion", like that of Paul Ryan and Gary Johnson, is defined by Ayn Rand: "You can follow me, or you can follow God. You cannot follow both,"

It is, of course, a parallel of the Biblical "You can follow God, or you can follow Mammon. You cannot follow both."

"Mammon", of course, is an ancient word for "Republicanism". :P

Or too bad for those who don't support multiple wars and policies that disproportionately are enforced and harm minorities at a greater rate. Who's the bigot?
09:37 AM on 12/27/2011
Inane retort. Stick to playing "Go Fish"--an appropriate game for Republican slate of presidential wanna-bees.

"policies that disproportionately are enforced and harm minorities at a greater rate"

Do you even listen to what the Republicans are proposing?

Ban abortion and birth control? Better be prepared to pay a lot more to support extra minority children.
Flat tax? The rich (mostly white) will pay much less and the poor (mostly minority) will pay much more.
Replace DADT/Keep DOMA? Gays are taxpaying American citizens, too, you know.
