SLIDESHOW: What Twitter Is Saying On The Last #CharityTuesday Of 2011

On this last #CharityTuesday of 2011, take time to recognize someone who gives at great lengths.

Do-gooders don't give to receive recognition, but a little shout-out can go a long way. Twitter is buzzing today with #CharityTuesday tweets recognizing nonprofits, individuals and everyday heroes doing great things for others.

The hashtag, introduced more than two years ago, isn't necessarily about asking for money. It's focused more on giving thanks and recognition, similar to the general Twitter hashtag #FollowFriday, or #FF, suggesting Tweeters worth following.

As we wind down 2011 and reflect on a year of climbing poverty rates, natural disasters and other crises worldwide, take a moment to tweet about an organization or an individual doing great things.
