Pat Robertson's Most Outrageous Quotes (VIDEOS)

Pat Robertson Wisdom

First Posted: 12/27/11 03:39 PM ET Updated: 12/27/11 04:07 PM ET

Pat Robertson has racked up countless on-air hours in his nearly half-century as a televangelist. Host of "The 700 Club," the premier program of the Christian Broadcasting Network, he is for many a prophetic voice of Christendom. For others, Robertson's broadcasts amount to laughable displays of ignorance, at best, and revelations of outright bigotry, at worst.

During the last month of 2011, Robertson seems to be on a roll. After predicting Divine punishment for gay rights advocacy to claiming gays can "un-acquire" homosexuality and turning mac 'n' cheese into a race issue, only one question remains: What will he say next?

HuffPost Religion has put together this list of "best of" Robertson for your consideration. What have we missed? What is your "favorite"?

"This country cannot continue to violate God's principles and to make a mockery of His laws and think we're gonna get away with it. And when the boil comes, it's going to be horrible."

Didn't he basically steal the 700 club right out from Tammy Fay and Jim Baker? Im sorry, this man makes telling people I am a christian, embarrassing at times. I am not embarrassed by the Lord, just by some of his so called servants.

In the 1980s, he prayed a hurricane away from Virginia and toward New York because the City and State of New York are godless. I'm gobsmacked that people actually watch him and send in money.

He also used the Parable of the Talents as a justification for mercenary greed and crass acquisition, when it is, in fact, a lesson about being yourself and making the most of what you are.

A better thing to do would be to show the similarities between the people whom you just mentioned and our own jihadists (Robertson, Hagee, etc).

Homo sexuality and Transgender are a very old concept. In the great Hindu Epic of Mahabaratha, there is a character by the name Shikandi who was born as a female but raised as a man and married a princess! Also, during the last year of exile Handsome Pandava prince disguised himself as a transgender who thought dance to a princess. Even today in India, the 3rd gender is considered as good omen and hence invited to all the good ceremonies at home. There are so many ancient sculptures in South India that speaks of Homosexualities. People shouldn't torment the homosexuals in the name of religion!
