Kanye West Moving To London For Fashion Line? (PHOTOS)

For those of you concerned about Kanye West's future in fashion (oh so many of you, we're sure), worry not: British tabloids say he is moving to London to further pursue his design dreams.

West was an amateur fashion fan until this past summer, when he took the plunge and actually designed his own line. With the help of London-based designer Katie Eary, West showed a full Spring 2012 collection at Paris Fashion Week with plenty of industry big shots (think Carine Roitfeld, Anna Dello Russo, Olsen twins) in the front row.

While the critical reviews were tepid at best, West seemed pretty pleased with the result -- enough that he's picking up and moving to London. A "source" (grab that grain of salt, people) told UK's The Sun:

"He went home for the holidays but was proclaiming that he is now based in the capital and would return in early January. He's close to the lecturers and students at the Central Saint Martins College and being in London means he can stop by for advice any time."

And we'd believe it. Say what you will about his erratic nature and annoying quirks, but when Kanye West puts his mind to something, he goes all the way (including actually showing up to Occupy Wall Street and moving to Italy to intern for Fendi). He's also a peripatetic soul, having spent the last couple year hopping between Hawaii, New York, Rome, Japan and God knows where else.

So we wouldn't be surprised if West buys some real estate in London and gets to work on his Fall 2012 line... which really is just around the corner, as the next round of RTW fashion shows begin in February.

I don't agree. There are tons of high end designers creating silhouettes that are convertible to wide sizing. Now, Look at all the cut outs and the chintzy fabric. Kanye is certainly taking advantage of his music celebrity.

Actually I am not a big fan of the spoken word generally but West is hardly what I would call a poet and the great travesty is that people call him a musician when he has no musical skills whatsoever. When I was a kid, a guy who could play a turntable was not a musician.

He's not a singer. He's a producer/musician/rapper that sings using auto-tune. He doesn't claim to be a singer. He's also sitting on about $70 million so far.

"Musician"? All the money and all of bling in the world does not make him a musician. Duke Ellington and Louise Armstrong were "musicians". Ella Fitzgerald was "a musician". Yo Yo Mah is a musician. West can not sing music, write music or play a musical instrument other than a record player. Calling yourself a musician without any musical skills is no different from standing in your garage and calling yourself an automobile.
