Kion Wilson, Panthers LB, Has 4 Guns Stolen From Truck

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are investigating the reported theft of four guns worth $1,700 from a truck owned by Carolina Panthers backup linebacker Kion Wilson.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg says in a report that Wilson reported robbers broke into his F250 truck. He says they stole a FN 57 handgun, a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a Glock 23, and a Smith and Wesson Body Guard 380.

Wilson says he discovered the break-in while driving after stopping at store parking lot near Northlake Mall on Monday.

Police say the door lock on the truck was also damaged.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Sgt. Brian Foley says police are checking out surveillance camera footage but have no suspects. He wouldn't say if the firearms are registered to Wilson, citing the privacy of the investigation.

You guys have never been to NC have you. Pickup trucks with a 12 guage/Rifle in the gun rack are standard there. Then you have your concealed carry which brings the total payload of guns to three. Don't really see the need for four though. Not unless it's a .22 under the seat for plinking.

The Carolina Panthers should effort more on background checks and character investigation before they sign players like Wilson. Keep up the great work Carolina Panther front office, with personnel moves like this the Super Bowl will only be a distant dream.

I know, I know, "I have the guns to protect my family from the criminals that would do harm to me." perhaps he should look in the mirror because he might recognize one of those bad guy. What do you need FOUR guns for? You can only do a "Plaxico Burress" ( shoot yourself in the leg ) a couple of times. But what does a guy want with four guys unless...
A. One is used for period of road rage
B. One is used to scare Cam Newton from stealing any laptops, I pads, or X boxes.
C. Wants to be stopped by the police to brag that he's not some dumb jock because he knows the what the Second Amendment says.
D. Is getting ready to fire off rounds and rounds of ammo for New Years.

My guess is that someone knew he had firearms in his truck and was following him waiting for him to stop somewhere and then hit his truck. Luckily he didn't have any really expensive weapons on him.
