Obama, Hillary Clinton Top 'Most Admired' List

Obama Hillary Clinton

The Huffington Post   Posted: 12/28/2011 10:05 am

Americans named President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as their "Most Admired Man" and "Most Admired Woman," according to a USA Today/Gallup survey released Tuesday.

Gallup asked respondents, without prompting, the man and woman whom they admired most in the world. Clinton has topped the list for the past 10 years and for a total of 16 times since 1993. Obama topped the list for the fourth time in a row. Both were mentioned by 17 percent of respondents.

Oprah Winfrey came in second among women with 7 percent mentioning her, followed by First Lady Michelle Obama, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

In the "Most Admired Man" category, former President George W. Bush was mentioned by 3 percent of respondents, while former President Bill Clinton, Rev. Billy Graham and Warren Buffett were mentioned by 2 percent of respondents each.

Real estate mogul Donald Trump placed sixth among men, with 1 percent naming him, after last being on the list in 1990.

"Americans named President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as their "Most Admired Man" and "Most Admired Woman,"

Really? I'd love to see the list of those they polled. Must have been the DNC, liberal, and progressive Americans. Polls are funny. I have never been polled. The only one that will count will be 11/12. I take no stock in any of the others.

I admire Obama because he's grace and strength under pressure personified. I always go to the disrespect that has come from elected officials like "you lie" Joe Wilson (R-SC) screamed, or the Republican's publically made mandate that the number one goal was to make the man a one term President. To paraphrase poet Maya Angelou "Still He Rises."

I have fallen in love with Hillary. I admire her so much. She beats out Bill in my book. It's like "Bill who?"

This has GOT to be a joke and a poor one at that. "Most admired"? I am appalled and horrified that the American people could be this misinformed and mesmerized by two of the biggest threats to our country in 200 years of our history...that is after Harry Reid & Nancy Pelosi.

You and all your fans can go jump in the lake. Intelligent people understand that these two are good and decent people. You baggers have nothing in your withered souls but hatred and stupidity.

My faith in America is restored by at least 17%. Just wish they'd given wrist bands to the folks who said they admired Sarah Palin so I will know who to stay away from.

Irrespective of GOP wing-nuts and teabuggers malices and misinformation, we American must proud of our president of lots of great personal traits such as honesty, integrity and ability to accept responsibility, transparency and lack of scandals so far in his administration, so on so forth.

On many issues I may not agree with President Obama, yet I respect him. I respect him not only for his position but I do believe that he is a man of integrity. I would much rather have someone with integrity in such and office even if I disagree with him than a scoundrel who may share more ideologies with me.
I have no use for those who sacrifice doing their own jobs to prevent someone else from doing his.

After all the distortions, half-truths and flat out lies about the man he still comes out on top. Congratulations Mr. President. Your recognition is well-deserved. Hey, where were Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell on that list?

So where is Newt? Where is Boehner? Where is Ron Paul? McConnell? McCain? Perry? Romney? Hannity? Beck? O'Reilly? Trump (1%) Where is ANY Republican for that matter. Admired? Not now anyway. Can't find them. Goes to show you, the character of this President has trumped the nastiness being thrown at him by All Republicans. He stands out. And THAT's what we want in the White House.
