The Next Art Robot Phenom? (VIDEO)

WATCH: Robot Goes On Painting Spree

Japanese artists So Kanno and Takahiro Yamaguchi have created a robot that can wield a spray can like an automated Jackson Pollock. We're not saying it's going to break any records at Sotheby's, but once the robot gets into the rhythm and paints the entire space the final product is amusing.

Watching the robot's clunky arm swing back and forth makes its painting feel refreshingly random as if the robot has no specific flight plan as it moves from side to side. The resulting art may be questionable, but it's funny to remember that abstract art can essentially broken down into a series of individual moments, adding up to a bigger picture with cultural importance.
