Max Mara Spring 2012 Ads Photobombed By Flower (PHOTOS)

The past few years have seen the rise of The Photobomb, as numerous pictures featuring an unexpected face have gone viral (recall the adorable photobombing seal and meme-worthy squirrel?)

Now it seems the trend has come to fashion with Max Mara's latest ad campaign.

OK, so the ads aren't really photobombed. But we couldn't help but feel that the vivid bloom in the photos, held at various angles by Saskia de Brauw, looks a bit out of place.

We assume Mario Sorrenti, who snapped the pics, must've liked the unexpected burst of color. We just can't stop thinking about how awkward and out of context that darn flower is. Like a squirrel in a family photo.

Three thumbs up (one of those thumbs would be alien) for the Max Mara Spring 2012 video.

The clothing they are presenting here are astonishing, too bad they are not affordable for most people. The models show like the show horses that they are, very well.

A major drawback? The music is so drab, it's three thumbs down for their selection from my perspective.

I would give the makeup a "nebulous" rating, it could have been quiet and down played like the color of the clothing but, it needed something it did not have. A cleaner and less smeared look or something more, probably just a bit more color. The extreme paleness of the makeup gave the beautiful models a mortuary look which really took away from their overall appearance, forgive my candor here.

The hair styles were great,. Overall, one heck of a fabulous collection!

One question comes to mind though: Why are producers afraid of including modern Jazz into their productions? Some vintage, Charles Lloyd ("Sunrise, Sunset," comes to mind) or Miles Davis would take the show to a whole new level of the sublime.

I must say something. I am honestly surprised at the amount of awesomeness this photographer, his model and styist have put into these photographics. I don't think I've ever seen such outright beautiful images, clothing, style and tip top choice of model ever anywhere. Mario Sorrenti, you would be Italian. Am I right? Great job. On the contrary, the flowers do not look out of place but right at home with this gal who is deluxe. What a series. I have not seen the ready to wear video but, here I go now to check it out.

Her arms look to be different lengths but it looks like I'm the only one that sees that.

She's an android, that's why.

In picture 10, is that her leg? Whatever it is, its smaller then her arm....

Actually, it has me wondering how much Max Mara paid them to run this "ad".
Oh hey, check out these pics and see if you can find something wrong....
Guess what! You just spent more time looking at these than the average commercial airs on television!

Honestly I get so tired of the obvious "paid" spots on these so called news sites.

I do too. The only weird thing I saw was a model who looked like her father was Spock from Star Trek.

She looks VERY sexy WITHOUT stripping bare. The orchid looks great and gives color to all the photo's. I'd say it was a GREAT shoot. The 'teaser' shots that most companies use with near naked models have nothing on this layout.

One of the travel ads for Puerto Rico speaks about visiting San Juan, the oldest city in the US. When did Puerto Rico become a state?
12:10 PM on 12/31/2011
St Augustine, Florida is the oldest city in the US. Puerto Rico has a really nice 'Old Town' that's not 'fantastic' but pretty nice to visit. The old 'El Morro' fort is more interesting in my opinion.
Used to go to Puerto Rico a lot a few years back, then street crime took over, and who needs that ?

"OK, so the ads aren't really photobombed" -- so you've written a misleading headline then?

What is out of context here is the fact that you have chosen to make something out of nothing ..it is a PROP............ no significance and certainly not worthy of a discussion started by someone who lacks the chops to criticize

yeah... that's a bird of paradise. regardless, it's pretty awkward.

...that's not an orchid...
12:15 PM on 12/31/2011
If that's not an orchid, then I've been screwed over by many florists that over the years have sold me identical 'flowers' and called them orchids. OMG, the humility, distain and shame I will have to bear. It's just too much. I'm going back to my cave.
