Top Weird News 2011: The Year's 11 Oddest News Stories

While doomsday evangelist Harold Camping predicted the world would end May 21, we at HuffPost Weird News knew the truth -- our strange world was only becoming more bizarre this year.

Among many other amazing things, 2011 gave us the birth of conjoined twins who share one two-headed body, and at last report, the extremely close brothers were happy and healthy.

Over the year, we were introduced to a man with a 100-pound scrotum, a woman who crawled inside a dead horse, another woman who taught new mothers how to turn their afterbirth into vitamin-packed nutritional supplements, and a diaper-wearing, pacifier-sucking man who calls himself an "adult baby."

Some of us found God in a Walmart receipt, others beautified themselves with injections of tire sealant and cement.

UFOs were spotted on an NFL broadcast, stoned wallabies were almost blamed for crop circles, and a prominent investigative journalist blamed the legendary Roswell space crash coverup of 1947 on a Nazi-Soviet conspiracy that involved notorious Auschwitz madman Josef Mengele and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.

And in weird science, we shudder to think how the researchers conducted this study: Experts now believe that sex with animals can lead to penile cancer.

As we look forward to an even stranger 2012, here's a list of our 11 favorites from 2011:

I expected a different list.
1. Act of high treason from gov officials for approving the defense authorization act that would remove our constitutional rights. Since this means you can be labeled terrroist for having over 7 days of food in your house,own a gun, You can be arrested just in case you might make a crime. You can be denied trial and be held as long as they want.
2. Police all over the country are told to respond to peaceful protesters first than real crime.
3. Police abuse to peaceful protest which means if you ever want to protest something in the future you need riot gear yourself to protect you.
4.Occupy wall street targets corporations billionaires and then the gov they control. First time in history the right target is found. in response corpations use the media they own to make up stories of occupy that oddly people believe no matter how crazy it sounds.
5. Main street media clearly shows how they have special interest by picking sides on the news.
6. Discovery of public places are treated as private as the right to assemble is denied as protesters get arrested then released due to no victom no crime.
7. An attempt to pass S.O.P.A which would create internet censorship as it is done in china. (it may still pass as the attempt is still being made.
8.Police arrest media or warn of ban of credentials if they don't leave the scene.

Try ordering one in restaurant like Ruby Tuesday, TGIF, etc. they only offer medium or medium well; if thick, order medium,sometimes might have slight pink in center; I think this started after e coli outbreak several years ago. Also no smoking in any restaurants in GA and NC now

A note about Sarah Palin's e-mails being written at the 8th grade level.....

Has anybody had those experts look at any story written by HP? I bet that they do not rise to the 8th grade level!

Actually, back in 1987, my journalism professor taught us to write our articles on the level of a 13 year old (8th grade level) because that is the average level of comprehension in the US. Sad... but quite true.

I think the airforce is pushing too hard to pretend they don't know about UFO's. Why wouldn't you want a pilot reporting something strange. Doesn't mean it's an alien, could be a new Russian aircraft.
