Katy Perry's Married Girl Style, From Kooky Pop Star To Elegant Wife (PHOTOS)

We poured out a little bit of Katy Perry's perfume yesterday after news broke that Russell Brand was filing for divorce from the pop star, citing irreconcilable differences.

When Katy first hit the scene with her controversial song "I Kissed A Girl (And I Liked It)" in 2009, her kooky style garnered her almost as much attention as her risque lyrics. Performing next to giant pieces of fruit (including a phallic banana or two) in bedazzled strawberry costumes, Katy embodied the spirit -- and image -- of youthful California bubblegum pop.

But after Katy, then 25, married Russell Brand on October 23, 2010, she seemed to grow up a tad, gradually trading more of her flouncy minidresses for long evening gowns by the likes of Vivienne Westwood. Her wedding gown was even Elie Saab.

Katy's hair changed, too: when she first married Russell, she forsook her wild pink and blue hair hues for some more natural dark curls. As the year went on, however, Katy went pink (and then blonde!) again. (A sign that she was reclaiming her independent girl spirit?)

Possibly the creepiest man I have ever seen(other than Snoop Dogg). Too bad . It seemed like a nut match made in Heaven. Maybe he should start wearing clothes that fit,and maybe she should start looking like a human being.Ugh. Two no-talents.When she has been long forgotten, the world will still be listening to the likes of Judy Collins,Joan Baez,Joni Mitchell,Etta James,and Ella Fitzgerald. What passes for music today is unfathomable to me.All of you young kids who defend "artists" like Jay Z,Snoop Dogg,Jennifer Lopez,Katy Perry,Christina Aguilera,come back to me in forty years and let me know if you still hear their music on the radio. Almost fifty years later,we are still hearing The Beatles,the Rolling Stones,and dozens of other artists with actual talent.True talent never fades.Fads come and go.

Snoop Dog has already been around twenty years that I know of. He's not going anywhere yet. People like what they like. I'm a music lover in my forties and I have no idea what the artist you mentioned (Judy Collins,Jo­an Baez,Joni Mitchell,E­tta James,and Ella Fitzgerald­) sings. True talent is in the eye of the beholder.

I LOVE most of Katy's style choices. I thought she looked great with the dark hair, especially because her album covers are usually pin up girl style. But the pink/blonde short hair looks absolutely adorable on her too.

I must say, I usually don't care much about celeb relationships but I really loved these two!!

If only she could sing...
I saw her at a festival a few years ago, and mid-song they had to turn off the microphones of her background singers, because they were noticeably better. She couldn't carry a tune with a forklift and the seven dwarves trailing behind her.

I agree with you, he has a bad boy sexiness. In my life I don't go for guys like that AT ALL, that metro look is weird to me. But I think his dark hair, scruff, and body are all hot :)

I love her style. Ashe's very attractive and sexy, and I adore the fact that she is willing to go different places with her fashion.

I'm not a big fan of her music, unfortunately. But she seems like a nice gal.
