BlackVoices Preach!: Faith in the New Year

First Posted: 01/01/12 08:44 AM ET   Updated: 01/01/12 08:32 PM ET

It's a brand new year and we've gathered together some amazing sermons to help us enter 2012 with faith and hope.

First, Rev. P. Kimberleigh Jordan shares with us the history of Watchnight and it's importance on New Years. Lisa Anderson tackles sin and blame and how both should be handled in the coming year. Adam Clark asks us all to reconsider Kwanzaa as a new mode to express Christian faith. Finally, Reverend Otis Moss looks at how jazz has helped shape his love of God and how his love of God has colored how he views culture as a whole.

If the Church won't unite for community growth and advancement. Then they make God a liar.
Our destiny is in our own hands as God give the increase. If He will do it for others than He will do it for us . OUr money is to build a nation for the lost tribes which we are.

The question comes to mind do blacks have unity. You would normally answer no but how wrong you are? Every Sunday morning Blacks unite to the tune of 750 Million dollars with some 24 plus trillion in disposable cash intertwined in the Church. We dont demand anything of our leaders who say their not leaders when it come to the money. God has a perfect will for His people. Faith without works is dead! so is unfruitful giving. If God bless you wit a thousand dollars you dont need to test Him by giving it awat to see if He will bless you. Malichi 3:8-10 Says will a man ( Will aman ) rob God Yes He has robbed Meeven this whole nation. So cast lots among ourselves and lets have one purse Prov. 1:14

Yes, we do, like the blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus. Faith in the new year will be just as big of a failure for the black community, as it always has been. Sitting around waiting for some non-existent super human agency to rescue us, will only keep us down in the dumps.

Please get rid of the evangelical 3/5 collapse faith. I have contempt for people who preach "God can do this because God is God " while calling me arrogant because of my attempts to expound and explain my inspirations from the Bible into working confirmations and more sensitivity and more sense. Religion should not be college hating
