"Extreme Couponing" came to "2 Broke Girls" (Mon., 8:30 p.m. EST on CBS) as Caroline went from afraid of coupons to obsessed with them after seeing how much they can slash a grocery bill. She even took tips from the online coupon queen, which led to a star-struck encounter when she saw her new idol at the grocery store.
The only problem was that the coupon queen was standing in front of the cake mix that Caroline needed to buy, and the queen didn't know about the deal Caroline concocted that would net her 40 boxes of cake mix and additional cash on top of it.
Perhaps the most disturbing revelation was that Max's cupcakes were made almost entirely from cake box mixes. First, how would Caroline have never figured that out up to this point, and secondly how could they be so unanimously well received? It was certainly an unexpected revelation so deep into the series' first season.
Should they open a bakery, it might be prudent for someone to teach Max how to make her own batter. Perhaps this will be a challenge the girls will undertake in future episodes.
