Beyonce Baby Pictures: Why Singer Won't Sell Photos

Despite the rumors, Beyonce and Jay-Z's baby did not make its debut on New Year's Eve. But when the little bundle of joy does arrive, don't expect to catch a glimpse of Babyonce on the cover of a celebrity weekly.

"They are one of the most private couples," one magazine editor told me. "We have made several offers to their people about running exclusive images of mother and baby and no one has responded."

Today, some celebrity babies are splashed across the covers of weekly magazines before they've even opened their eyes. Often when such a deal is made, the contract stipulates that the baby cannot be seen in public for a few weeks before and/or after the magazine hits the newsstands.

"If Beyonce and Jay-Z do decide to share their child with the world, they will probably go the same route as Tom Cruise and Katie [Holmes]," the editor explains. "Instead of selling the images to a weekly publication, they would give them away for nothing to lock in a cover of a monthly like Vanity Fair. But knowing this couple, it is unlikely we will ever see a staged picture of the child."

A spokesperson for Vanity Fair declined to comment.

Brad and Angelina broke the record when they sold images of their twins, Knox and Vivienne, for upwards of $12 million, with the understanding that the proceeds would be donated to charity. Other celebrities who have sold baby pictures include Jennifer Lopez, Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Alba, Jamie Lynn Spears and Tori Spelling. But Beyonce and Jay-Z are so private that, after their 2008 wedding, they refused to even confirm they had tied the knot.

"Everyone reached out to the couple to buy wedding pictures and they refused," an industry insider revealed. "They have an estimated net worth of over $700 million. It's not like they need the money."

Oh my gosh...that's hysterical. My sentiments exactly. Who gives a rat's behind??? And to all the idiot fans who say "you do or else you wouldn't comment", I say, "faulty assumption". You assume that because somebody comments on the article that they care about what the article is about. It is possible to comment on something because you DON'T care and think it, and/or the person in the article, is irrelevant. I am so pleased that Beyonce will not sell the baby's pictures. We have seen SO MANY pictures of her baby bump that I feel like I am almost family. I have given the bump a name. I call it LARS. The bump needs a unique name because it is so special! It is BEYONCE'S BABY BUMP. Say it slowly! After the baby is born, Beyonce could sell it's poopy diapers and make a quick buck or two. I just hope that LARS doesn't look like JayZ. That would be a horrible fate for BEYONCE'S BABY BUMP!

The HP has quickly become a clearing house (or should I say dumping ground) for all the publicists unworthy even of the supermarket tabloids trash. What I find most disturbing is the number of people who comment on this stuff as if it’s even worthy of discussion. If this is a barometer for the American mentality it’s easy to understand why politics and ‘entertainment’ have become so mean, vapid, nasty. To be honest I really think these two have sold their souls to the devil. I've read about them buying an armored car to protect the baby. They feel the baby will be stolen. There is no concern making cash off the unborn child. The decision not to was made simply because. Instead of worrying if she has an actual child in her belly, why not worry about the lack of intelligence pumping through her head. You know what's funny? You can look on any news article on this website and find an argument. Same with youtube. People are bubbling with opinion that they can't stand but to get angry online.

Anyway, I think that if they are worth 700 Million, this isn't much incentive to sell to charity. I bet they can make up that 12 million in a myriad of ways to give to charities (and I'm sure they already give to charity). Kudos for not selling photos of your kids!

Whether or not she is really pregnant (as the rumors say), who cares! Congrats! We focus way too much on celebrities and get way too upset about stuff on the internet folks.

I'm surprised they aren't selling the pictures. They sell everything else, like occupy wall street t-shirts without giving any of the proceeds to the cause. The paparazzi will get the pictures somehow. Why don't they just do what Brad and Angelina did and give the money to charity.

I have a lot of respect for Jay Z and Beyonce for selling their wedding pictures to those celebrity magazines.

I hope they will do the same with their baby pictures!
