Career Advice: Should You Quit Your Job If Your Mentor Leaves The Company?

You've done it. You have actually found the perfect mentor. You have found the person at your company who not only supports and advises you but also promotes you. As Senior Catalyst Director Heather Foust-Cummings says, a good mentor makes sure you get the visibility you need. "They really have their skin in the game and are willing to ride their reputation with yours." According to a recent survey by Marie Claire, 66 percent of women said that mentoring and networking events are important for furthering their career, however 72 percent have never actually been mentored. But you have actually found your mentor but what if they left your company? Would it be worth it for you to stay?
