As the new year begins, prominent LGBT figures are sharing their predictions and hopes for 2012 with HuffPost Gay Voices.

I couldn't agree more with Armistead Maupin about who may well win an Oscar this year. We all share Autumn Sandeen’s hope that we figure out, finally, how to battle the “bathroom bill” meme when it comes to transgender inclusion. Many of you are sure to agree with LZ Granderson on Madonna and the Super Bowl. And it's heartening to see Larry Kramer, once again, kicking off the year by shaking things up.

As to how to battle the bathroom bill meme, it's simple. This person was assigned female at birth:

Do you really want him in a women's bathroom or shower? Wouldn't it be better to have trans men use the men's room and trans women use the women's room?

Because otherwise, as this growing community is denied rights, they're going to protest, en masse. They'll take your advice, and those assigned female at birth, regardless of identification, will use the women's washroom and locker room... in groups of four or more. Vice versa for those assigned male at birth, regardless of identification...

And we'll just pick a time, any time, really, to take the cissexism to it's logical conclusion. Because at that point cissexists will be forced to admit that they don't want trans women in the men's room and trans men in the women's room. Instead they want something that's never going to happen:

They want trans people to disappear.

And far more than disappearing, if this can't be resolved respectfully, where there are a dozen of us (any town with 3,000 people would have at least that many transitioned trans people) we're coming to a public accommodation near you.

I predict more and more places of worship will become open and and affirming. I don't think the holy spirit is present in any place that is not fully welcoming and integrated.

Here's another prediction for 2012:

GLBT binational families will continue to be needlessly torn apart. Nothing will be done about it since were in 'election' mode. We will continue to be treated like poop on the bottom of one's shoe.

I really don't think that is fair.
First, HUFF PO is not a GLBT site, and we as a Community have no editorial imput as to how pages are displayed
Second, I have been out in the GLBT Community for over 30 years and have yet to be at a Pride Event or even a Drag Show that didn't have an interpretor there.
