'The Chew' Reaches Highest Ratings Ever

Looks like things are looking up for "The Chew." Last Thursday, the food and lifestyle TV show reached its highest ratings ever -- 2.77 million total viewers. This was the second consecutive week that "The Chew" reached record-high ratings. ABC is now daytime's number one network across all target women demographics.

This record high actually doesn't differ so much from the ratings of "All My Children" -- the soap opera that "The Chew" replaced. In fact, 2.77 million is higher than some of "All My Children's" ratings in the last year.

"The Chew" may have gotten off to a bumpy start, but these ratings indicate that the show is starting to exhibit promise. It has been bringing on a steady stream of guest stars, including "Dancing With The Stars" Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who appeared on the record-setting episode.

I love "The Chew". Wish I could be in the audience. Clinton and Carla are so cute. The whole cast has good chemistry. I hope it is on for along time.

It's all a lie they made it up so that they would not have to admit that they made a BIG mistake taking AMC off the air. We will see it fall again in a couple of weeks because you can't keep a lie covered up.

I'm just watching daytime tv less which is a good thing. I do watch Y&R & General Hospital & if they get cancelled, I won't be watching much of anything. Don't need more talk shows.

The Chew is the BEST! It is a breeze of good, clean air. When everything in the world is on its end, The Chew puts color in a world of black. It has to be the best 10 shows on TV.

I'm sorry that so many people are upset about their favorite shows being taken off the air. I know how I feel when that happens to me, so truly I feel your frustration.

But I do like the Chew. I stumbled upon it mid-November when I was home sick with the flu and flipping through the TV channels. Since they were gearing up for Thanksgiving and the holidays, it was a great show to watch to get me in the spirit of things. They even made me forget I was sick for that hour!

I DVRed the show and have been watching recordings of it ever since. I actually still had some unwatched holiday episodes that I recently watched which was awesome - still keeping in that warm and cozy holiday feeling. :-)

Again, I'm truly sorry your shows are gone. But it is highly unlikely that they will be brought back. That only happens in very few, rare situations.

So now other people are becoming fans of the shows that are on the air like The Chew. Please don't try to get our favorite show off the air.

They only way they can try to get your favorite show off the air is by not watching which is their right. Only unacceptable ratings can get the show cancelled, not complaining by angry AMC/OLTL fans which has no impact because ABC doesn't care about soap fans anymore.

That the ratings are up...I find that hard to believe, I think ABC fabricated this to entice people to watch and think they are missing something. I hate this show and everyone on it. I speak with quite a bit of food knowledge and never watched All My Children so this is not sour grapes. I think it's pathetic that so many talented , deserving young people are cheated out of opportunity because of people like Daphne and Carla etc. Get real ABC, big, big mistake.

abc is once again giving out a crock of crap. i read that the viewship of the chew was down, much lower than AMC. we need to keep boycotting abc daytime programming & the sponsors of these replacement shows. if we all stick together maybe we can get abc to financially hurt & maybe then thew will understand what they did to the loyal viewers of AMC & OLTL. my tv no longer is on abc during the day. brian frons & abc seem to think that we r a pack of twits that r mindless watching soaps. well before i became disabled i held a very high paying managerial position & can understand a multitude of issues. there r much more of us out there than abc knows about. the only way we can show abc that we mean business is to continue to hurt them in their pocketbook, so boycott the sponsers of the replacement shows as well as the network & they daytime programming..maybe we need to add the VIEW into our daily boycott list as well as the local news stations that come on around noon time. let them all feel the money leaving their pockets in order to get our point across to ABC.

I am with you. I want watch it and I have told all my friends the same thing. I can't beleive they did this to us. I was told that the Republican wanted all the soap of the air so that this will make the women that are on unemployment go back to work! I guess what every they want they get.

the ratings of the chew r up? WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP....both of these new shows will hit an all time LOW for abc....people r upset about the cancellation of All My Children & One Life To Live. These were our extended families that were ripped from our homes. Even when I worked I taped these shows to watch after a long day at work & abc & that sucker brian frons ripped them away from our hearts. the cast & others were lied to & treated like crap. they were given lies just like we were. prospect part & anything that group of creeps touch should be boycotted as well, for leading the loyal viewers along thinking that we would still be able to watch our shows. we need to keep abc daytime programming off of our tv's & boycott the sponsers that advertise on the new shows...we should consider contacting the sponsers to let them know our money will not be spent on their products & why we have made this decision.we all need to stick together on this. ABC, WE WANT OUR SOAPS BACK

Yeah they rode into The Oltl time slot.Thats how they got their ratings up.When it was time for OLTL to come on the View was still hanging on to boost ratings.I know because I seen what was going on this week.Wait until next weeks ratings.
