Those of you planning to party like it's the end of the world can stop right now. The Mayans were wrong, OK? The apocalypse isn't going to happen. Not yet, anyway.

This short clip, created by C.G.P. Grey, outlines why modern science trumps what some consider baseless apocalyptic predictions.

With some sarcasm and a few quips at New Age beliefs and the History Channel, Grey manages to put together an entertaining compilation of facts supporting his own theories about the Mayan Calendar.

Fine, there's always a slight chance the Mayans were right, and life as we know it will come to a jolting stop at a very, very inopportune time. But if that's the case, we think you'll have a pretty hard time saying "I told you so."

The thing that concerns me about December 2012 is the same thing that concerns me about all “end times” predictions: That the idiots that believe in the predictions enough will do something stupid. No, it won’t be the end of the world, but some people could have their day ruined.

So Mayans didn't predict the infamous "Mayan prediction." Think of the letter H: hippies, Hollywood, and the History Channel did.
