After a long and heated Republican pre-primary season, the results of the Iowa caucus, the first contest of the 2012 presidential election season, are almost in.

Presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum have been locked in a dead heat. Ron Paul has been projected to take third place, followed by Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann.
