Mario Lopez, Courtney Mazza Engaged
Mario Lopez is engaged to Courtney Mazza. According to US Weekly, the dimple-cheeked television host most known for his role as Slater in "Saved By The Bell" proposed to the broadway dancer while vacationing at the beach resort of Ixtapa, Mexcio over the New Year holiday.
"We took a walk alone as the sun was setting," Lopez told the magazine, before citing their two-year-old daughter Gia as another reason.
"I told Courtney that I wanted the mother of my children to have their last name. She was silent at first from shock, then she leaped for joy and did a little jete."
The couple met in 2008, while they were both starring in "A Chorus Line" on Broadway.
In the meantime, Lopez has been outspoken about his Hispanic heritage and his desire to raise his daughter with full knowledge of her cultural background.
Lopez and Mazza plan to wed in Mexico later this year.
Lopez was previously married to actress Ali Landry in 2004, though the marriage was controversially annulled just two weeks later.
