'Martha Stewart Show' Gets Canceled

First Posted: 01/04/12 01:42 PM ET Updated: 01/04/12 05:00 PM ET

Martha Stewart's daytime show, "The Martha Stewart Show" will reportedly cease production in April 2012.

According to the New York Post, who first reported the news, the show's high production cost and low ratings contributed to the canceling of the show. The show is aired on The Hallmark Channel. Though production will stop in April, episodes of the show will continue into September, but according to the Post's source, the episodes may be repeats.

Stewart's show was a daytime talk show stop for chefs, butchers, fellow TV personalities, and more. Stewart had made headlines recently after her daughter, Alexis, published a book, which exposed some less-than-perfect sides of the domestic goddess.

FishbowlNY obtained a copy of an internal memo sent by Lisa Gersh, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia President and COO.

Gersh did not deny that the show had been canceled, but wrote that the Post "had an inaccurate and negative portrayal" of some MSLO businesses and the company's relationship with the Hallmark Channel.

The Martha Stewart Show has not been cancelled by Hallmark, a media hoax started by the New York Post. Collusion among the propagandist media, including USA Today and HuffPost, is perpetuating this hoax.

Martha and the Martha Stewart Show are transforming Hallmark from a channel of reruns The show will go on summer hiatus in May, like previous seasons, airing repeats and no new episodes until the new season starts for the show's seventh season and its third season on Hallmark in September 2012.

I would have watched her show, as I used to in the past when it was carried by a major network that is viewable by an antenna. I dropped satelite tv over a yr ago, but haven't really missed paying the $75 a month for the available package of stations. Maybe her show can be carried now by Create TV on PBS.

Martha will hook up with Oprah, Dr. Phil, Phil Donohue, Regis Philbin and Geraldo and together they will continue to entertain those sad souls who have nothing else to do....but watch daytime TV on the geriatric channel.

That is the saddest news that we have heard in a long time. When is Donald Trump's show going to get cancelled?

No matter what you think of her, she gave a lot of small businesses, especially women-owned businesses, a spotlight on her show. Who else is doing that?

that's because no one knows where the Hallmark Channel is.

Why? Did you watch it?

I did watch the show, and I'm not surprised. Moving to Hallmark was not a good thing. Some cable systems don't even carry the channel, therefore a lot of her audience from the syndication years could not tune in. Furthermore, Martha never seemed comfortable with the format. I thinks she's better when she does not have a studio audience and celebrity guests to have to try to joke around with.

Finally!! They decided to put that show out to pasture. That woman has never stuck me as the "Home Cooking" type. Probably doesn't do any cooking or cleaning at home.

And when you don't watch a show, you can be judgmental.
