'NCIS: Los Angeles': The New Assistant Director Has History With Hetty (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

Linda Hunt may be small in stature, but she packs a punch as Operations Manager Hetty Lange on "NCIS: Los Angeles" (Tue., 9 p.m. EST on CBS). But there's a new assistant director, Owen Granger, in town and he seems to have some history with Hetty -- history that he can't leave in the past, even though she strongly advised it.

When he said that the team was under her spell, Hetty responded, "My staff are a complementary team of independent thinkers and you would be wise not to let your personal vendetta cloud your judgment of them. Or me."

He said he wasn't afraid of her, but she responded, "That was your first mistake." She's not the only one who was giving Granger the stink-eye, as he was clearly added to elevate conflict and give the audience a new villain to hate. It looks like he's going to stick around for awhile and based on what he walked in on with Hetty's training, it looks like she could probably take him if the inclination struck her.

Follow all the intrigue on "NCIS: Los Angeles" every Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
