Scott Walker Recall: Democrats To Reveal Final Signature Total On Jan. 17

Walker Recall

First Posted: 01/04/12 01:50 PM ET Updated: 01/04/12 01:50 PM ET

Menomonee Falls Patch:

But Democrats made it clear Wednesday that no more updates were coming until Jan. 17

"Anyone who sees numbers before that date can rest assured that they are not viewing accurate numbers," the party said in a statement. "Various blogs and other outlets have, in the course of their reporting, received erroneous information that they believe has been leaked to them. Mostly, this is part of an earnest desire to report on an historic moment. But there also is extant games-playing by Scott Walker defenders who are seeking to manage expectations to their favor."

If managing expectations is what he believes is important, then he should expect to find himself in the very same unemployment line as everyone else.

Collective Bargaining is not a protected right under the U.S. Consitution. What these public employee's are forgetting is that we all pay their wages. When there is nothing left in the coffer as a surplus there is nothing to negotiate with. It's a vicious cycle. I am kind of tired of my taxes being raised because they need a raise.
08:56 PM on 01/08/2012
You need to understand that this had nothing to do with the budget. Walker himself admitted that taking away collective bargaining rights wouldn't save a penny. I suggest you get educated before you fall for anymore of this lackeys BS.

It has everything to do with collective bargaining. When there are no funds in the coffers to negotiate raises with, then there is no reason to negotiate. The taxpayer is not represented in the entire process. When you have a third party (arbitrator) making awards for compensation and increased wages from grievances, the taxpayer is not represented. In fact, the third party is ruling against the taxpayer to have their taxes raised in absentia of a voter approved referendum. Based on that there is NO representation to the tax payer. To have a fair and equitible system any awards should be granted by an Administrative Judge only. Of course most arbitrators are former union officials. Personally I feel we are taxed out nationally and locally. So I suppose I am more educated than some and have enough common sense to be my own man!
05:22 PM on 01/16/2012
Hey expara82, YOU need to get your facts straight, as what you claim IS NOT what Walker said. What he said was that his actions of removing collective bargaining rights would not affect so much at the state level, IT WOULD ALLOW LOCAL GOVERNMENTS TO BALANCE THEIR BUDGETS", which they were unable to do, currently! Quit putting out the lies, spin and BS of the commie run unions!

Why don't you think about levying property taxes on all the untaxed religious property in the state? You are subsidizing them through your taxes. There is a total of $1.5 trillion untaxed religious property in the USA including churches, synagogues, hospitals, schools, cemeteries, seminaries, convents, monasteries, church offices, suppliers to the churches, universities, etc.

I probably agree with that as well. Tax the Native American owned casinos as well. If they are making money, they should be taxed. Good assertions!

The Republican Party of Milwaukee County THANKS Democrat Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett for using Governor Walker's budget tools in Milwauke. Barrett is also a likely gubernatorial candidate for the Democrats, if recall supporters obtain enough valid signatures to force a Walker recall. No wonder the public unions don't want this guy to run against Walker!

Get ready for another few rounds of Walker and other anti-union govs defenders in all newspapers, media, etc. The billionaire's anti-middle class conspiracy killed the economy over the last 30 years, really stomping us into the ground the last 10 years when they got their Bush tax cuts and moved about the rest of manufacturing out of the USA (they would have if Dems had not bailed out auto industry, sorry foreign car makers), now they are trying to gain total control of Americans by killing unions and buying elections and their political power with Citizens United. My recommendation - keep replaying the Koch brother faker's call to Walker from last year so we know Walker is not here to serve the people, his is here to serve the billionaires and his other masters of the rich.

Or forward your wonderfully worded comment. It behooves me that America is really considering electing the vulture capitalist billionare, Mitt Romney in place of the guy who wants health care for all Americans (well, Mitt used to be for that until he was against it). The guy who has been spitting a lung out trying to get Tea Congress to enact some economic stimulus like every other time the country has been in economic hard times. Instead, Mitt is all, let everybody forclose, I'll buy them all up and rent at twice the price and make a bundle, VOTE FOR ME FOR FOR A BETTER ME

Probably planning on getting revenge for Joseph Smith and Brigham Young - those folks think they are better than everyone else and have a long term plan to take over the country I am beginning to believe, no honestly started smelling it a long time ago. Mitt and the Momons may be a spear head for the mean hateful rich republicans to bring a caste system, if you aint one of them you will live at the lowest level they can put you at.

You are doing a fine job making a spectacle of yourself...deep breaths...The recall of Walker is not the end of your world....no need to go off the deep end ;)
05:37 PM on 01/16/2012
No, it's the end of "THE" world. Union power is nothing more than a commie takeover of America, but union members are just too frikkin dumb to see the freight train that's fixin to run over them, their kids and their grandkids! Union members are too dumb to see what's coming, because they have all been brainwashed by slick, commie union organizers spewing their hatred and economic divide. "Hate the rich", is the deed of the day! ALL public employee unions need to be made illegal. Private sector unions, are OK because that is not public money. NO MORE PUBLIC UNIONS!

Yes, "me," and one million of my fellow Wisconsinites. So little patience for losing so much. Selfish not-rich people.

A spectacle indeed. That word should be saved for the Republican Presidential can'tdidates.
07:35 PM on 01/05/2012
They should just let the Democrats have the place and then they can raise everyone's salary to one million dollars a year and give them a no-death policy. It'll be awesome.

Wisconsin will easily reach the minimum number of signatures. There are literally millions of us ready to boot the corporate prostitute in our governor mansion.

The question is, how many of us will turn out and vote? He only GOT to be governor when about 200,000 of us progressives and liberals stayed home in 2010. Admittedly, the Fox News tea party "movement" was in full ascendancy then. And now the tea baggers are falling apart. But Walker has a lot of the local media under his thumb, and way more money than we do. We need help with the national media, and from the White House. A lot of Wisconsinites noticed when Obama never showed up for us last year.

Maybe, they are trying to play it safe by holding thousands of bogus signatures until the last moment, hoping that their little fiasco doesn't unravel on them.
02:53 PM on 01/05/2012
LS. I guess you don't know "best" As a volunteer working on the Recall, I know that there will be very few "bogus" signatures. Any questionable signatures or errors are sent back to be corrected by the original circulator. Because some guy says he signed 80 times, does that mean he did? If in fact he did, it was probably caught in the area where he signed the petitions and taken care of. No Hitler or Mickey Mouse signatures will get to the GAB in Madison. We are just giving Wisconsin voters the "tools" to clean up the mess Walker has made in our state.

And if the results end in a recall, will you accept them and admit on this web site that you were wrong in your assessment of the situation? I see you are betting it will be utter disappointment for those seeking his recall. Let's see where we are on 17 Jan. Then on 18 Jan let's see you accept that the good people of Wisconsin no longer support Walker. As a defender of the Constitution, I assume you also defend the vote of the majority in the governing process.

A wise move. The number of signature collected by 17th January will be staggering. To announce them as they are being collected will only add to the acrimony already in full display by the Walker crowd.
