Continuing to endorse the notion that HIV is not the true cause of AIDS, Christian extremist Bryan Fischer featured Peter Duesberg, author of "Inventing the AIDS Virus," who believes symptoms attributed to the disease are actually caused by recreational drug use among the gay male population.
"The reason HIV was invented as the cause of AIDS is it was a way to get research money," Fischer, who serves as Director of Issues Analysis for the American Family Association (AFA), said on his "Focal Point" radio show. "If AIDS is caused by behavior...there's no money in that because you just tell people, 'Hey, stop doing the behavior.' So that's why they have to find some bug that they can blame it on."
At the end of the interview, Duesberg asserts that half of all AIDS patients are comprised of promiscuous gay men who have "hundreds, often thousands" of sexual experiences in a short time. "They can accomplish that, like our Olympians break records now in the Olympics, by taking tons of drugs," he says.
Fischer also earlier stated that basketball legend Magic Johnson being alive for 20 years after his HIV diagnosis is "confirmation" that AIDS is not caused by the virus.
