Concern over Stacey Nicole English's whereabouts escalated today after Atlanta authorities announced they had recovered her abandoned vehicle.
The 36-year-old Georgia woman has been missing since celebrating the Christmas holiday with her family.
"The vehicle was found but she has not been located," English's step-father, Kevin Jamison, told The Huffington Post. "The vehicle was found about 15 to 20 miles from her apartment."
English was reported missing by relatives on Dec. 27. Her cellphone, iPad and the device that opens the gate to her condominium complex were found inside her home. English's vehicle, a white, four-door 2006 Volvo S60 was missing.
English attended a Christmas gathering at her grandmother's on Dec. 25. Afterward, she returned to her home in the exclusive Vanderbilt complex on Lenox Road in Buckhead. According to Jamison, a male friend from Missouri was visiting with English. On the night of Dec. 26, the two allegedly got into an argument and she asked him to leave. Nobody has seen English since that night. Police have not named the friend a suspect or person of interest in the on-going missing persons investigation.
Authorities said English's vehicle was found abandoned on Dec. 27 in southwest Atlanta, but it remains unclear why the discovery was not announced sooner.
According to English's step-father, police are examining the car for clues.
"Right now they are combing it," Jamison said. The concerned father added, "We are brainstorming and are going to meet at 1 p.m. with top brass from the Atlanta Police Department."
Meanwhile, HuffPost was contacted late this morning by Carlos Campos, the Public Affairs Manager for the Atlanta Police Department. Campos was concerned about comments made by Atlanta Police Sgt. Curtis Davenport exclusively to The Huffington Post.
Campos, however, said authorities have been doing much more to locate English and said he is looking into why there was an apparent internal disconnect.
"What I want to make clear to you is that we are taking Ms. English's case very seriously and we are looking for her," Campos said. "We are very much looking for her. We are working to find her whereabouts. In fact, there is an investigator assigned to the case and we've also brought in our Complex Case Squad for assistance. That unit has some of our most seasoned homicide investigators on it."

Asked if authorities now suspect foul play, Campos said, "We're looking into all possibilities. At this point anything is possible. We have to. She has been reported missing and there certainly are some circumstances that are troubling."
English is 5-foot-3-inches tall and weighs approximately 120 lbs. She has brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair with blonde highlights.
The family is asking anyone with information regarding English's whereabouts to contact the Atlanta Police Department at 404-614-6544. They have also started a group about her case on Facebook.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this article incorrectly identified Kevin Jamison as the father of Stacey English. He is the step-father. English is the biological daughter of Anthony English.

Now you know something is bad when during Christmas, a man and a woman are arguing. It's supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year ( as long as your mind is on Jesus) until another person with issues brings his evil into the environment. Two things that people ( especially women) should take away from this tragedy:
1. Always bring a man or boyfriend to meet parents or relatives do that they can place a name with a face and callow people to read his vibes. This sounds old fashioned but it's a time and true method to assess that person. They also know who to look for if something goes down.
2. 3 out of 4 people entering your life will bring some form of stress, choas( not previously there before) that will lead to unhappiness. Expect 3 out of 4 people to disturb your peace. Don't get involved; a young lady is dead because of that sad fact about human brings.

Why do you always have to blame the victim??? She is missing and possibly dead. And she is a very attractive woman. It's not safe for women any more. We live in an evil world and it's getting worse. Blaming the victim is just wrong. you don't know what they are either going through or what they went through once they are found either dead or alive.

Carol, you are absolutely right, my only hope is that she is found alive. Men needs to man up and walk away from an argument or a rejection of a spouse of companion when that time arise.
As a husband I would be upset if my wife was to walkaway but I would accept it as a man and use it as motivation to become a better person.

Sad to say, but I have a premonition that Ms. English is dead, probably at the hands of the man who visited her from Missouri. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Atlanta police are beyond criminal in response to this lady's death. The entire police department should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law in this travesty of justice.

I wonder how the car got so far away, unless some person other than the primary was also involved. It isn't likely that someone could manage that alone, unless he or she was a runner. Or, perhaps the person did not leave the car there, but did leave the keys and subsequently someone else stole it. It isn't easy to drive two cars at once. Hope the car is full of evidence, but too many people know too much about forensics nowadays.
And of course, I do hope for a good outcome.

Atlanta has one of the worst police departments. They still can't stop or catch the smash and grab bandits that have committed hundreds of crimes in Atlanta over the last 3 or 4, maybe 5 years. Not to mention numerous police officers have been involved in crimes themselves. Does APD even do background checks on their police officers?

Actually just learned of her case this evening and I so hope that they find her alive and well. Praying for her safe return.
According to articles online......Early on in this case, the police had not only been lax but also SOUNDED lax....when asked what they were doing to find this young lady one of their sergeants replied, "we're passing out fliers."
Nothing more. No sense of urgency.
Even if you're holding some things close to the vest, you still shouldn't come off as 'We could care less'. IMO
Lucky for them Carlos Campos stepped in and went into immediate damage control mode.
He was Professional, with just the right amount of we DO give a d*mn and more importantly he had a PLAN as to what their next steps would be.
