It was a rather unique situation on "Chelsea Lately" (Weeknights, 11 p.m. EST on E!), with Chelsea Handler sitting across from and interviewing the woman who's playing Chelsea Handler on the new series "Are You There, Chelsea?" Based on Handler's best-selling books, Laura Prepon plays the younger Handler, while Handler is in the show playing her older sister. Confused yet?
"People are going to watch us and think that I'm a real drunken slut," Handler exclaimed. She talked about Prepon having to bed a new man each week on the show and said she was glad it wasn't her.
"I would never be able to do that becuase I've already done it in real life," Handler said. "I would never be able to do it on camera, so that's so great that you can do it for me.
"I'm trying to take some of the pressure off of you," Prepon said. She mentioned that the two women share a lot of similar characteristics, which was obvious when watching the two of them during the interview. If the chemistry and similarities translate well to the sitcom, they'll be totally believable as sisters.
"Are You There, Chelsea?" kicks off this Wed., Jan. 11, at 8 p.m. EST on NBC, while "Chelsea Lately" is on every weeknight at 11 p.m. EST on E!
