Sandringham Estate Body Identified

Sandringham

01/ 8/12 09:58 AM ET   AP

LONDON -- The remains of a woman found on one of Queen Elizabeth's vast estates belong to a 17-year-old missing girl, British detectives investigating the murder said Sunday.

Forensic tests identified the decomposed body as that of Latvian Alisa Dmitrijeva, who was reported missing from her home in eastern England in August, Norfolk Police said.

The body was found by a dog walker on New Year's Day in woodland three miles (five kilometers) from the royal residence at Sandringham House.

Sandringham, in rural Norfolk, is a vast estate where Queen Elizabeth II and her family traditionally gather to celebrate the holiday season. The royal family is not implicated in the crime in any way.

Part of the nearly 31-square-mile (8,000-hectare) estate is open to the public, and the body was found at Anmer, a hamlet of several dozen people.

Detective Chief Inspector Jes Fry, who is probing the case, said police are trying to find out about any activity that took place on or near the site in August through September, and looking for people who may have worked in the area.

These comments are disgraceful and I'm sick of people defending their action with the whole 'I have free speech' line. Most Western countries do- so what?

Some of you here seem very immature. This is a murder case. A young woman has lost her life and there is nothing comical or funny about it. You would not think it was a joke if you were the victim nor if it were someone you love. This is a tragedy. Grow up or please just don't comment disrespectfully if you can't do that. Have some respect for this young woman and her family.

A murder case? And you know this how? The girl probably ran away from home and ended up overdosing on drugs.

Read the article. The police who are actually doing the investigation said it's a murder, and your comment is disgusting.

And you know this how? If you read the first paragraph, Einstein, you'd see that it was being investigated as a murder. They don't do that unless there's clear evidence of wrong-doing. Maybe the murder weapon was next to the body. Think before you speak, it goes a long way.

I'm so sorry this young girl lost her life at so early an age. I hope that her family has been comforted.

Sandringham? Yes, I remember Hyacinth "Bouque" mentioning it. You know, the Bucket woman.

Traficing or an honor killing? It is so very sad But, whit I find disturing, as an aside, is they Press picking ip on this or that Particular abduction or murder csase, whe, TENS OF THOUSANDS of Murders occur, here, in the ststes, EVERY YEAR. The Number of Missing Persons, ten times that number. The number of Rapes and Molestations, higher still.
The more we try to be "accepting and Tolerant" the more our people will die. Innocent til proven guilty, right to trial by Jury- but, there is a cancer in our society, Death Penalty? Frontal Labotamy? Life of Forced Labor? Domething, Deviants are released and re-released into our midst daily!
Sorry, I fear for Humanity, as a whole. This is a tragedy, indeed, condolences to her family- but take note, Trtagedy Abounds, here, now- make your stand.

a 17 year old is not a woman. She is a young lady.

It's no shock to see how so many on the net can be so cold and ignorant...This is a poor child only 17 yrs old....My heart goes out to her family...She could have been murdered anywhere...For all you ignorant cold callous people on here how would you feel if it was your daughter?

Since this poor, young girl is idendified as being a Latvian, it would not surprise me if it is later determined that her death - perhaps murder - is linked to human trafficking for the purposes of prostitution. This a very tragic indeed.

Her family live in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

This has nothing to do with human trafficking.
