WASHINGTON -- The District of Columbia has its hipster-oriented retro bike ride. Now there will be a brick-and-mortar bike shop that will offer "a well-curated collection of bicycles and accessories." On H Street NE, naturally!

As local blog H Street Great Street lays out:

The Daily Rider will not only be the first bike shop on H Street, but also arguably the first truly urban, stylish bikeshop of its kind in Washington, DC, making it destination retail for bike lovers throughout the city and for bike loving tourists in town for a visit. The shop will conveniently be located just steps from a new Capital Bikeshare location at the SE corner of 11th & H and comes to H Street from Capitol Hill neighborhood residents Loren Copsey and Beth Rogers.

You won't find "spandex pants with big padded rear ends."

The shop will offer Bobbin Bicycles, which according to the shop's website "has been leading the chic cycling movement since 2007." Also for sale: Yakkay helmets, which will be perfect to outfit your next Dandies & Quaintrelles social outing.

All good, except for selling helmets that haven't been tested for the risk of increased rotational injury. Those Yakkay helmets: http://www.copenhagenize.com/2010/05/yakkay-viva-helmets.html
