Gayle King 'CBS This Morning' Debut: Oprah Winfrey Tweets Support

Posted: Updated:

CBS' new morning show premiered on Monday, with Gayle King debuting as the host of the 8:00 a.m. hour. As one could expect, gal pal Oprah Winfrey was not too far from the action.

Just before 8:00 a.m. hour, Oprah took to Twitter to cheer on her best friend and encourage viewers to tune in. She also highlighted that she will be working out while watching King each morning.

Oprah Winfrey
Morning tweeps..I'm up early to watch CBS morning news. Gayles debut. 4 25 years she watched my show while working out ,now I will.

Oprah Winfrey
ROCK STEADY this is your moment! CBS this Morning.

Prior to signing on for "CBS This Morning," King hosted "The Gayle King Show" on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). King decided to focus her energy entirely on her new post at CBS, and canceled her show on OWN. She has maintained her position as Editor-At-Large at O Magazine.

Some worried that the two famous friends would experience a falling out after King left Oprah's network for another show. Don't worry—they are clearly as close as ever!
