Fotoshop by Adobe: Parody Product Is Going To Make You Look Awesome (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/10/12 02:10 PM ET Updated: 01/10/12 02:10 PM ET

It's no secret that Photoshopping images of models and celebrities is a regular and controversial part of the way that the advertising industry works. And while some companies, like Dove, are working to debunk the damaging and physically-impossible standards for the human body that the industry perpetuates, filmmaker Jesse Rosten has a different idea.

Why not just turn that Photoshop brand into a spinoff line of cosmetics and prey on women's insecurities that way? The parody ad is obviously very tongue-in-cheek, but you have to admit, there are probably some people out there watching and thinking, "That's not a bad idea!"

Then this might be the product for you. Simply by exporting one unit of pixel intensifying fauxtanical hydro-jargon microbead extract a day onto your soul and you might end up seeing results that you could only have dreamt of. Until now….

Isn’t it time you began living the great American illusion too?

The Julia Roberts Lancome campaign intensified the airbrushing debate as it was banned by the ASA for being misleading... Surely if the next campaign for a cosmetics brand that made a point out of 'real' beauty (along the 'Dove' approach) then they will do great things?

A leading photo library pointed out that questions about image manipulation in the future are potentially going to get more complicated http://www.imagesource.com/blog/fotoshop-by-adobe/

We are definitely going to see a crackdown by Advertising Standards for both this and images of children in ads this year...

As a graphic designer who used the original Photoshop for many years before retiring, I find this video absolutely hilarious. Well done by everyone involved.

The thing is that the people who are photoshopped aren't the ones who need it.

Of course, they used attractive women in the video, anyway... But it was a great idea, and a good message.

Hahaha!

Adobe should've thought of this for themselves.

Cue the envious women who are going to clamor about this video and high five each other (or the HossPuff equivalent, post favorite).
