Meryl Streep's Fun Tassel Earrings At The New York Film Critics Circle Awards (PHOTOS)

Who sported these adventurous tassel earrings on the red carpet last night?

The jewelry fan was none other than Meryl Streep, who made an appearance at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards and scooped up a "Best Actress" award for her turn as Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady."

Clad in all black and a navy scarf and navy heels -- leave it to Meryl to mix black and navy and still look amazing -- the acclaimed actress punched up her outfit with a pair of dangly tan tassel earrings with blue beads.

We think even Miranda Priestly would approve.

We're always big fans of Meryl's refined yet chic red carpet style, and it must run in the family, because lately we're also loving the sartorial choices of her lookalike daughters. Is it too early to put in a request for a family Vogue cover?

If Meryl was a male actor, it would be more easily noticed and more widely mentioned that she is the best film actor who has ever graced the screen, and one of the greatest movie stars into the bargain.

What is so "bold" about those earrings? They look tame to me! Now, if they were four inch hoops with all sorts of fringe hanging from them, I'd say that was bold but these? No way!

She's such a lovely woman, but that reddish-purple eyeliner, up close, looks bad (as if she is sick). I'd go with something softer with her light coloring.

Meryl Streep can do anything she wants, because she's MERYL STREEP. You don't get any better than that. If she wants to wear bib overalls and Uggs on the red carpet she'll still carry it off with more aplomb than most of the ingenues.
