Newt Gingrich's Campaign Cuts Web Video Of Mitt Romney's Gaffes

Newt's Campaign Cuts Devastating Video

Newt Gingrich's campaign has compiled several of Mitt Romney's most damaging gaffes in a single web video, signaling that the campaign is willing to strongly attack the GOP front-runner.

The ad has not been released yet, but The Daily Caller's Matt Lewis uploaded it to YouTube.

"The most important question in this election this election: Who can defeat Barack obama in the debates this fall," flashes the ad text.

The ad shows several of Romney's verbal missteps.

"I like being able to fire people who provide services to me," Romney is quoted in the ad, which he said Monday while talking about health care competitiveness.

"Corporations are people, my friend," he says, clipped from an remark he made in Iowa last August to a heckler who complained about corporate money in politics.

"I'm running for president for pete's sake, I can't have illegals," he says, in an Oct. 18 debate.

The ad even shows Romney defending the oft-mentioned story of him strapping the family dog to a kennel on the roof of his car and driving to Canada.

The closing message is, "Imagine what Obama would do with a candidate like this."

Gingrich has attacked Romney since ads run by Restore Our Future, a Romney-aligned super PAC, helped torpedo his chances to win the Iowa caucus.

The former House Speaker also has raised questions about Romney's business experience at Bain Capital in recent days, saying that the leveraged buyout model the firm specialized in "undermined capitalism."

He acknowledged, though, that his rhetoric might be seen as echoing Democrats Wednesday. According to Politico, A Santorum supporter said he "missed the target" in addressing "Romney's weaknesses." He responded, "I agree with you...it's an impossible theme to talk about with Obama in the background. Obama just makes it impossible to talk rationally in that area because he is so deeply into class warfare that automatically you get an echo effect."
