Sanaa Lathan's Black Lace And Sequin Caplet: Yea Or Nay? (PHOTO, POLL)

The Golden Globes are just a few days away and Hollywood is in full party mode.

Last night at the Beverly Hills Hotel a few of our favorite stars--like Sanaa Lathan and Jessica Alba--attended the Forevermark And InStyle's "A Promise Of Beauty And Brilliance" Event where they got to view lots of red carpet worthy bling by Neil Lane, Martin Katz, Lorraine Schwartz, Bulgari, Cartier and more.

Although jewels were the focus of the evening, Sanaa's black lace and sequin caplet was what caught our attention on the red carpet.

It's a great attempt to jazz up her LBD--but we think it's a bit more batty than brilliant. What do you think?

Elegant, daring, and totally different. Kind of has this Goth/Vamp look to it. Different.
Not the typical fodder you see these celebrities wearing.

If the hem of the dress was right past the knees and pencil thin, that would have completed the look.

One of my favorite actresses, but nay to the cape boo-boo, it all looks a bit boring, maybe a fitted satin jacket and some cuter shoes(of color) would have been better.

she is a very beautiful and youthful woman but i don't like that thing over her dress. She is not old enougth.. that thing look like old church women sequence or lace up crap.

Not feeling the outfit too much, either, BUT Ms. Lathan is always beautiful and classy. Really, she could make a burlap sack look fashionable. And why haven't we seen her on-screen more? Hollywood, give this woman more movies!

I like her a lot, but I don't like this outfit. The dress doesn't fit well and the "cape" looks like one that my senior citizen mother-in-law owns.

Lathan is smart, beautiful and talented. This is a rare miss for her.

I like the cape but not with the dress. The dress is too tight and looks a bit ill-fitted. The hairstyle and accessories (shoes included) is not really working in the best interest of the outfit in my opinion.

Fortunately...for me had the privilege of meeting Miss LATHAN in person.Drove 4 limo service 4 awhile.Nothing bad to say.Besides one of the most beautiful women on the planet,even in jeans&sweats ALWAYS acted like a lady&looks it in that dress
