Madonna Makes The Sheer Tights Trend Official (PHOTOS)

You know a trend is officially in vogue when Madonna embraces it, right?

The queen of pop attended a photo call for her new movie "W.E." in England today looking, as they say, absolutely fabulous, in a blue and black dress, fingerless Chanel gloves, and a peekaboo black bra.

But what especially caught our eye was that Madge was garnishing her look with black fishnet tights that had a sheer look -- something she also tried at her other "W.E." event recently.

This isn't the first we've heard from see-through legwear: sheer tights were a huge part of Temperley London's fall 2011 collection, and obviously we have the Middleton sisters to thank for the nude pantyhose revival last year.

Now that even Madonna is sporting sheer tights even in 2012, will we all be trashing our opaque black tights for good in favor of pantyhose and fishnets?

Pantyhose are back in style? In some places they never went out of style, but mostly in colder climates. They can be extremely uncomfortable under humid conditions.

Madonna doesn't dress all that great. Why would anyone want to copy her? Back in the eighties when she brought punk style to mainstream, I know a lot of little girls got into it. But her clothes have never really been that great.
