Adele Performing At BRIT Awards; Grammy's Up In The Air

Posted: Updated:

It's official: Adele will make her public singing comeback next month. Exactly when, however, is the question.

The Grammy-winning pop star suffered from vocal illness that led her to cancel tour dates in October and eventually forced her to undergo surgery in November to stop recurrent bleeding from a benign polyp in her vocal cords. On Thursday, it was announced that the "Rolling in the Deep" singer was both nominated for three BRIT Awards and would perform at the show in London on February 21st.

"fucking happy, thank you for the nods xx" she tweeted after the announcement.

Whether the London show will be her comeback, however, remains to be seen; she is reportedly scheduled to appear at the Grammy Awards on February 12th, and has been asked to perform there, as well. However, sources have reported that she won't be able to confirm her singing availability until the beginning of that month. An ABC News Radio report goes further into the medical specifics of what it would take for someone who underwent her sort of surgery to come back in time for the Grammys.

The 23-year old is known for her moving award show performances. She stunned with "Someone Like You" at the 2011 VMAs, while her performance at the 2009 BRIT Awards helped launch her star.

One thing is for sure: with six Grammy nominations and three BRIT nods, she should be singing for joy when the winners are announced.
